Curtis
Curtis is Zack's cousin. Curtis and his family moved to Angel Grove from St. Louis. Curtis also attended Angel Grove High School. Curtis made quite an impression on his fellow students on his first day. Curtis is surrounded by several students. Curtis is dancing and enjoying all the attention. When Curtis, finishes dancing, he walks over to Zack. Zack introduces him to Billy and Richie. Billy tells Curtis that Richie is new as well. Curtis tells Richie, I bet you know all the hot spots. Richie replies, somewhat and offers to show Curtis around. Curtis feels this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Curtis and Richie walk off together as Richie tells him about his job at the Youth Center.
The Youth Center was hosting the Golden Pipe Martial Arts Tournament. Jason was a participant. Jason won the tournament. Curtis and the rest of the crowd cheered for Jason as he received the Golden Pipe Trophy.
Trini and Zack are hanging out at the Juice Bar when Curtis walks in. Curtis asks them if they are going to the Jazz Festival the following day? Zack suggests that Curtis play his trumpet, but Curtis can't because his trumpet is somewhere between St. Louis and Angel Grove. Zack tells Curtis that he will loan him his uncle's trumpet, with Curtis' promise that he will take good care of it, as his uncle was a famous musician.
