RICHIE

Richie - Mauricio Mendoza

Richie and his family moved to Angel Grove.  Richie became a student at Angel Grove High School.  Richie was at the Youth Center, where practice for the broomball tournament was being held.  Kimberly, Tommy, Zack, Billy, and Jason were practicing for the match against Stone Canyon. Sitting on the sidelines, Trini films her friends.  As the teens practice, the ball goes out of bounds.  Richie picks up the ball and walks over.  Trini is immediately smitten with the young man.  Kimberly tells Trini that he is a new student and is very nice.  Richie gives the ball to Ernie and Ernie introduces Richie to Kimberly and Trini.  Trini immediately offers him a position on the team.  Ernie tells them that he has enough players, but he could use an assistant coach, which Richie accepts.  Later that day, the match between Angel Grove and Stone Canyon began. It is a close game and the Stone Canyon players are very confident that they will win.  With Richie and Trini helping, Ernie coaches the team to pass the ball to Jason.  Jason will get it to Tommy for the last shot.  The game starts up again with six seconds remaining.  The team follows Ernie's plan.  The game is tied when Tommy scores the winning point.  Richie, Trini, Ernie, and Zack cheer.  Kimberly, Jason, Tommy, and Billy walk over to them.  Richie tells them they did a great job.  Trini tells Richie it is because they had great coaches.  The Stone Canyon players dejectedly start to walk out of the Youth Center.  The Stone Canyon coach makes two of the players walk over to the Angel Grove team.  Reluctantly,  they tell them they are really good.  The teen shakes hands  with Jason.  Jason tells the two Stone Canyon players good game and maybe Stone Canyon will beat them next year.  The Stone Canyon players are not too sure and reply maybe before walking out.  The Stone Canyon team and coach walk out of the Youth Center. Ernie offers free drinks for everyone and he and Richie walk away to start serving drinks.

Richie was walking along the beach when he spotted Trini, Kimberly, and Tommy.  As he passed, Trini called out a greeting.  Richie returned the greeting and glances and continued with his walk.

Tommy, Billy, Jason, Zack, Kimberly, and Trini are in the park having a picnic.  Richie drives by on his bike.  Trini invites him to join them, but Richie can't as he is helping his mom unpack.  Richie bikes away.

Richie is part of the crowd of students at Angel Grove High School, watching a new student, Curtis, dance.  When Curtis, finishes dancing, he walks over to Zack and Billy.   Richie walks over as well.  Richie compliments Curtis on his dancing.  Curtis replies, it's runs in the family as Zack and Curtis pound fists. Zack introduces his cousin to Richie and Billy.  Billy tells Curtis that Richie is new as well.  Curtis tells Richie, I bet you know all the hot spots.  Richie responds, somewhat and offers to show him around.  Curtis feels this is the beginning of a new beautiful friendship. Richie and Curtis walk off together as Richie tells him about his job at the Youth Center.

Richie is working at the Youth Center.  Tommy, Jason, Kimberly, Trini, Zack, and Billy are sitting at tables.  The new teens walk into the Youth Center and order five cokes.  Jason, Kimberly, Trini, Zack, Billy, and Tommy walk up to the counter.  Jason tells Richie and Ernie he will cover the tab.  Jason faces the new teens and tells them he would like to start over again.  (Jason, Kimberly, Billy, Trini, Zack, and Tommy had a rocky start with the new teens).  The new teens agreed and everyone introduces each other.

The Youth Center was hosting the Golden Pipe Martial Arts Tournament.  Jason was a participant.  Jason won the tournament.  Richie and the rest of the crowd cheered for Jason as he received the Golden Pipe Trophy.
