MR. CORMIER

Mr. Edward Cormier - Stephen Hall

Mr. Cormier is head of a new network in Reefside.  He was rather surprised when Devin and Cassidy applied at his place for a job - since they had no real working experience.  Cassidy persisted and promised Mr. Cormier an exclusive - the identity of one of the Power Rangers.  Mr. Cormier had several of best reporters on the job with no success.  But he liked Cassidy's attitude and decided to give them a chance.  Mr. Cormier promised Cassidy the 6:00 spot if she could bring him the identity of a Power Ranger.

Mr. Cormier was frantic.  He had several stories and not enough reporters.  Mr. Cormier was surrounded by several assistants who followed his every move and listened to his every conversation.  Mr. Cormier was walking down the stairs when intern Kira stopped him.  Kira had overheard that he needed a reporter.  Kira thought she had someone for him.  Mr. Cormier asked Kira if she was pretty.  Kira was offended, but Mr. Cormier didn't have time to be nice - this was television, not radio.  Kira confirmed that the girl was very pretty and had experience.  Mr. Cormier asked Kira to bring her to his office in an hour.  Mr. Cormier sat at his desk with his swarm of assistants behind him.  He couldn't believe Kira had brought Cassidy in as a reporter.  Kira pointed out that Mr. Cormier really didn't have much of a choice.  Mr. Cormier told Cassidy that she had the job and that her first assignment was to go the Willie's Wooly Sheep Farm and Petting Zoo to do a story.  Cassidy was about to object, but Kira overrule her.  Later, Mr. Cormier was at the studio while Cassidy did her first broadcast.  Cassidy and Devin had managed to get footage of both the creature Jupitor and the Rangers destroying it.  Mr. Cormier walked up to Cassidy when she was done.  He told her that it pained him to admit it, but she had done well.  Before he left, he told Cassidy that she just might have a career in broadcasting after all.

Mr. Cormier called Cassidy into his office.  He told her that his favorite reporter was out.  Mr. Cormier referred to Devin as "Donald".  He told Cassidy and "Donald" that there was a monster attack and he needed Power Ranger footage.  Cassidy told Mr. Cormier that he wouldn't regret trusting her with the assignment.  Mr. Cormier wearily responded that it was a little too late for that.  Later that day, Cassidy and "Donald" return to his office.  Cassidy told him that there had been no Power Rangers and asked if he was upset with her.  Mr. Cormier was far from upset, he was elated.  He couldn't believe that innocent citizens got hurt and the Power Rangers didn't show up.  Mr. Cormier already had a headline - Power Rangers abandoned Reefside.  He set Cassidy for the six o'clock news for their new story.  Mr. Cormier told Cassidy not to screw it up before he headed out the door.  Mr. Cormier returned to his office to watch Cassidy on the monitor.  He was gleeful when Cassidy began reporting that the Power Rangers had not appeared during a monster attack.  That was his girl, Mr. Cormier thought with a grin on his face.  But that grin quickly disappeared when Cassidy expressed faith that the Power Rangers would return.

Mr. Cormier told Cassidy that if she didn't find the Power Rangers identities by the end of the week, both Cassidy and Devin would be fired.
