Zhane - The Silver Space Power Ranger

On the planet of KO-35, two young men were making grand plans to become Power Rangers.  One of the men had dark hair with stripes of white.  Andros tended to be more serious of the two.  The other man have silver blonde hair with a grin that never seemed to leave his face.  Zhane knew that Andros had lost his sister at a young age and that had turned Andros into a serious young man.  Zhane was his best buddy and he was, at times, the only one who could make Andros smile or laugh.  Zhane enjoyed life to it's fullest.  When the two men became Power Rangers, it was a dream come true for both of them.  This strengthen the bond between them.  Zhane would do anything for his friend.  The Silver and Red Space Rangers were in another battle against evil forces.  Dark Spectre launched attack after attack on KO-35.  He had every intention of defeating the planet.  Dark Spectre had his fiercest warriors to do battle.  In the midst of the battle, Zhane saw that Andros was in trouble.  Without a second thought for himself, Zhane leaped in front of Andros and took the blow.  As the pain vibrated through his body, Zhane felt himself go limp and the world turned black.

Zhane began to feel his strength returning.  He slowly moved his fingers.  Somehow Zhane knew that his friend was in trouble.  Without paying attention to his surroundings, Zhane left the Astro Megaship to help.  He soon found himself in another battle.  The Rangers had to make a quick getaway and raced back onto the Astro Megaship.  Zhane and Andros gave each other their old greeting.  Andros was happy to see his friend back, but the battle wasn't over yet.  Zhane stayed with Alpha and filled him with stories of his bravery.  Andros and the other Rangers walked in during one of his stories.  Zhane greeted Andros warmly again.  Andros introduced Zhane to his friends, TJ, Carlos, Cassie and Ashley.  Zhane was enchanted with the lovely female Rangers, never having meet one before, and he gave Ashley a kiss on her hand.  Zhane wanted to know what was going on with KO-35.  Andros told him that he had been in hyper sleep for two years.  Zhane was startled.  Andros filled him in on the rest.  All of the Rangers were happy to have the Silver Ranger with them.

Zhane got along well with the Rangers.  Ashley was interested in telekinetic and Zhane was more than happy to try and teach her how to focus her thoughts.  The session didn't last too long, as once again, a monster was attacking Angel Grove.  Zhane went in search of Andros and was surprise to find Andros angry with him.  He was even more surprised that Andros thought Zhane was after Ashley.  Zhane knew how much Andros like her and he would never step on his friend's toes.  But Andros refused to listen to anything Zhane said.  When the Rangers were needed on Earth, Andros forbade Zhane coming.  Zhane couldn't believe his friend.  He sat in the bridge of the ship thinking.  Thoughts of his friendship with Andros kept drifting in and out.  Zhane decided that the whole thing was ridiculous.  Andros was his best friend, even if he didn't realize it at the moment.  Zhane went to help his friends defeat the monster.  Zhane encountered another problem while battling.  His morphing powers didn't last long.  Before he wanted to he had demorph.  He didn't know what was going on and kept it a secret from the other Rangers.  Andros realized that he had over reacted with Zhane.  He offered Zhane an apology.  Zhane knew that Andros had way over reacted, but he accepted the apology with good grace.  And then let Andros in on a little tidbit.  The time Zhane spent with Ashley was mostly fielding questions about Andros.  

But Zhane had more pressing matters on his mind.  Why wasn't he able to stay morphed?  Zhane knew he needed some help, but was still reluctant to tell the other Rangers.  He found Alpha and told him his problems.  Alpha ran a complete physical and lots of tests.  The answers would take awhile.  Zhane walked back to the bridge of the ship.  He was immediately push into a chair by Cassie and Andros.  With his feet up, Zhane wanted to know what was going on, but got no answers.  The Rangers were called to battle.  Andros and Cassie didn't want Zhane to accompany them.  Once again,  Zhane found himself left behind.  He could barely sit still as he wondered what was happening to his friends.  When Zhane saw the viewing screen and his friends in trouble, he knew he had to go.  Despite the fact that he was at risk due to his short morphin time.  Zhane helped his friends as quickly as possible and demorph just as fast.  The Rangers returned to the Astro Megaship.  Zhane had planned on heading straight towards Alpha, when he overheard his name.  Much to his amusement, Zhane realized that the other Rangers thought he was dying.  Zhane couldn't resist playing this along.  He entered the dining area and was immediately surrounded by the other Rangers.  They all fussed over him and Cassie and Ashley got into an argument over him.  Zhane couldn't help but smile.  He could get used to this.  Later, Zhane found out that the reason he couldn't stay morph long as because his powers had been drained.  He needed to recharge his powers.  The Rangers were needed again, but no one would let Zhane join them.  Zhane began to regret his trick on them, and tried to tell them they were mistaken.  But no one gave him a chance.  Zhane was tired of being left behind and decided to take charge.  He found an electric storm and went there.  Although he had to battle Ecliptor first, he managed to get his morpher recharge.  Zhane was back to his full maximum powerful self.  He relished being back in the action and helped his friends.  On the return to the ship, Zhane hadn't realized that his friends had found out they had been tricked.  They still fussed over him, when he entered a room, but it was with more vigor than before.  He admitted to the joke and soon found himself surrounded with cleaning supplies.  

Zhane enjoyed being back to full form.  He was in the midst of a battle with Astronema and one of her monsters.  Zhane couldn't keep the laughter out when Astronema hit her monster instead of him.  But when the monster started towards Astronema, Zhane became concerned.  In a flash, he had her out of harm and into a safe area.  He was trying to heat up drink, when he felt her staff on his back.  This didn't fazed him in the least.  Zhane didn't fear for his life.  Somehow, while she slept, Zhane sense a goodness about her.  Before Astronema could do anything, Zhane plucked a marshmallow at the end of her staff and roasted it.  Astronema was taken aback.  He encouraged her to try it.  Zhane was dazzled by the smile that appeared on Astronema's face as she tasted the marshmallow.  The smile stop as soon as Astronema realized what she was doing.  Much to Zhane's disappointment, she left with a quick thank-you.  Zhane could not keep her out of his thoughts.  He gazed at her picture, when he hear footsteps approaching.  Zhane stuffed the picture in safe keeping as Ashley and Cassie stormed into his room.  They wanted to go to a movie.  Zhane didn't feel much like a movie, but they insisted and he soon found himself dragged off.  Zhane was surprised to find that he enjoyed the movie.  It was a romance and it conveyed exactly what he was feeling.  As his friends spilled onto the sidewalk, Zhane walked more slowly behind.  He saw the poster for the movie and pictured himself and Astronema in the leading stars place.  The vision brought a huge smile on his face.  Zhane was about to leave when a young girl bumped into him.  He immediately bent down to help her retrieve her books, causing their heads to bump together.  There was one moment when the lovely young girl looked like Astronema.  The moment passed and Zhane soon caught up with his friends.  Just as he reached them, explosions seemed to erupt.  Zhane got himself behind a tree and scanned the area.  He saw an arrow with a note in the tree and retrieve it.  The note was for him from Astronema.  She wanted to meet him at the campfire.  Zhane was excited and raced back to the Astro Megaship to get ready for his date.  He scrambled to get ready.  With a dance to his step, Zhane was ready to leave to meet Astronema.  He overheard Alpha talking about the other Rangers being in trouble.  The last thing he wanted to do was battle and tried to tip toe his way past.  Alpha spotted him and dragged him onto the bridge.  Zhane watched his friends on the screen and felt an reluctance to join them.  Alpha wouldn't let him off the hook and Zhane soon joined the other Rangers.  He raced through the battle and when he felt he had tipped the odds in the Ranger's favor he left.  Anxiously he raced to the campout.  Zhane was thrilled to see Astronema waiting for him and did a flying leap off his cycle.  He held the flowers he bought for her high in the air and headed towards her.  The next thing he knew, Astronema was firing lasers at him.  Zhane couldn't understand.  He was only late because of the monster she had sent.  Astronema denied sending any monster and vowed never to have anything to do with him again.  Zhane was devastated.  He stood there torched and defeated.  Zhane couldn't shake his blue feelings.  The other Rangers tried to get Zhane to talk to them, but Zhane could hardly tell them that his heart had been broken by the Princess of Evil.  He kept quiet and walked dejectedly back to his own room.

As time passed, Zhane recovered from his encounter with Astronema.  He still care for her, but he got on with his life.  Andros and Zhane were exploring a planet when they realized that their friends were in trouble.  Zhane and Andros burst into the crowds that were ready to get rid of his friends.  Covered in dark hoods, no one knew who they were at first, but once they revealed themselves, the rebels of KO-35 recognized the Silver and Red Ranger.  The other Rangers were set free and a battle broke out.  Zhane went after one of the culprits by himself and found out that it was Darkonda in disguise.  He fought hard and with the leader of KO-35 helping him, he won the fight with Darkonda.  Afterwards Zhane made the tough decision to stay with the rebels of KO35.  He said his good-byes to the other Rangers and let them know that he would still helped them out whenever he could.

Zhane had return to help the Rangers stopped an asteroid.  When this mission was completed, he joined the others back on the Astron Megaship.  There he was told that Andros had found his sister.  It turned out that Astronema was Karone.  She had joined the other Rangers and then returned to the Dark Fortress to help the Rangers.  While there, she had been taken once again.   Zhane was thrilled.  He knew that there was something good about her and insisted on joining Andro's to the Dark Fortress.  When Andros found out that Zhane had gone a date with Karone, he wouldn't stop badgering him about it.  Zhane kept insisting nothing happen.  If only Andros knew what a flop that "date" had turned out.  When they burst into Karone's room, they were stunned to see the young girl with wiring all over her.  It was apparent that Karone was not the same girl.  Not even the same Astronema.  This girl radiated hatred and Zhane could hardly believe his eyes.  Andros pleaded with Karone but it may no difference.  Against their wishes, they made a quick get away.  Once back at the Astro Megaship, Zhane filled in the other Rangers on what had happen.  Later he talked quietly with Andros.  Giving them both hope that one day they can help Karone.

Zhane continue to return and offer his help as much as possible.  He helped the Rangers with their various battles and eventual defeat of the Psycho Rangers.  Zhane battled Ecliptor on his own on several occasions.  The battles kept getting harder and harder.  And despite all their efforts, the Rangers kept losing one Megazord after another.  The final battle was on hand.  Dark Spectre launched a full scale attack.  Zhane and the other Rangers never gave up and continue to defend Earth.  As they were battling a shower of gold washed over them all.  Zhane and the other Rangers were demorph and their advisories turned to dust.  Amidst all the celebrating the Dark Fortress landed.  Andros walked out carrying Karone.  Zhane and the other Rangers rushed towards the Dark Fortress and then stopped.  Zhane was at a loss for words as he watched his friend struggled with the death of his sister.  Then another amazing thing happen, Andros's tears transform Astronema back to Karone and back to life.  Zhane and the other Rangers were happy to see Karone back with them.
