Master Phant had taught at the Order of the Claw. His animal spirit is the elephant and he is a master at a special weapon, the Jungle Mace. After numerous years at the claw, Master Phant lived his life in solitude, not caring much about anything. His hut is deep in a forest. Years past and he spotted three teens, Lily, Casey, and Theo walking in his forest. Master Phant disguised his identity with a cloak and watched the teens, hidden among the forest plants and trees. The teens were getting too close to where he lived and Master Phant had to act. Master Phant leaped out and attacked the three teens. Master Phant had a relatively easy time against the teens. When they were defeated, he told them to get out, they were not wanted. Master Phant quickly left. Master Phant went back to his home. He was sitting in his chair in the dark when Casey, Theo, and Lily entered. Lily called out to see if anyone was inside. Master Phant answered. The teens told him who they were looking for and Master Phant told them he was once known as that name. The teens wanted his help. Master Phant called the impertinent children. Lily corrected him. They were not children, but students of the Order of the Claw. Master Phant did not care. Theo told him that Dai Shi had escape. Master Phant got out of his chair. Dai Shi escaping was not good, but it was not his concern. The teens wanted him to teach them how to use the Jungle Mace. Master Phant hadn't look at it in years. It is the weapon for a young warrior, not an old man. Theo noticed the cloak draped on the chair and got it. Theo pointed out he had been the one to kick their butts in the forest. Master Phant got angry and told them to leave. The teens did so. Their morphers went off. Lily told the guys to go ahead. Lily was determined to have Master Phant teach her how to use the Jungle Mace. The guys grinned as Lily planted herself on the front lawn. Lily told the guys to call her if they need her and they took off. Master Phant was not happy and went back inside. After awhile he stepped outside and noticed Lily had planted a garden of flowers. She told him she thought the place could use some cheering up. Master Phant told Lily he hated cheery. Lily remarked she was glad she was not a student of his at the order if he was always so grouchy. Master Phant told her she would have been lucky to have him, he was a great Master. Lily told Master Phant he still was and to teach her. Master Phant was resentful of the fact that after many years with the claw, they had sent him out to pasture. What did he have to live for now? Master Phant told Lily not to bother with the flowers, they would only die anyways and then entered his home once more. Master Phant went to his window and peered out. Lily was under attack by several Rinshi. Lily was not doing well. Master Phant watch for a moment longer and then glanced at his chest, which contained the Jungle Mace. Master Phant got the Jungle Mace and then hurried out of his home. He yelled at the Rinshi to leave his student alone. Lily had been knocked to the ground. Lily watched in amazement as Master Phant battled and destroyed the Rinshi with the Jungle Mace. Lily hurried over to Master Phant and he told her they didn't have much time. The lessons went well and Lily caught on quickly. Later, the Rangers were in battle with giant Pangolin. Master Phant contacted Yellow Ranger and told her to use his elephant spirit. The Rangers did so with great success. With the combination of the Jungle Mace and using the elephant spirit to form the Jungle Pride with Elephant Formation Megazord, the Rangers successfully destroyed Pangolin. Yellow Ranger told Master Phant he is the greatest. Master Phant thanked Yellow Ranger for believing in him. Afterwards, Master Phant felt he had more purpose in his life and took better care of himself. He walked up to his hut and was surprised to see it clean up. Theo, Lily, and Casey had worked hard. The teens took him inside and inside was just as nicely done. Lily told Master Phant it was their way of saying thank-you. Master Phant told Lily this time the teacher had learned from the student. Lily told Master Phant they wanted him to stay in touch, they may need him again. Master Phant reminded them he had the elephant spirit, he would never forget.
Master Phant and Lily stayed in touch and became good friends. Master Phant had a niece, Gabby. Master Phant asked Lily if she could coach his niece in dancing. Lily was more than happy to. Days later, Lily came to see Master Phant. Master Phant asked Lily how the dancing was going. Lily told Master Phant that Gabby had the gift, but she didn't feel she was the right coach for Gabby. Gabby was afraid. Master Phant confided that Gabby has always been afraid, and lets fear stop her. Master Phant tells Lily the story of how once he peeked in on Gabby and she was dancing. Gabby was graceful, but stopped the moment she saw him, afraid he would judge her. They both come to the conclusion of having Gabby fall in love with dance. Lily thanks Master Phant for his advice and takes off. The following day, Master Phant is outside his hut when he is attacked by Phantom Beast General Snapper. Master Phant fights back, but he tossed through the air with ease. Master Phant comes crashing down, just as Lily arrived. Lily sends out her cheetah spirit to attack General Snapper and Lily races over to Master Phant. Lily is determined to protect Master Phant. Lily morphs into Yellow Ranger. Yellow Ranger and General Snapper battle. Yellow Ranger needs more power and goes into Jungle Master Mode. The battle continues with Master Phant joining Yellow Ranger at her side. Yellow Ranger is defeated and Master Phant is captured. Master Phant is taken to the temple. Master Swoop and Master Finn are already there. The three Masters are taken to a chamber by the Rinshi. Master Phant and the rest are chained to the wall by the Rinshi. The Rinshi then place the three crystal eyes on spokes. Dai Shi and Camille enter, along with the three Phantom Beast Generals, Snapper, Scorch, and Whiger. Master Swoop implore Jarrod to fight the evil Dai Shi. Dai Shi tells him Jarrod can not fight against his evil, just as they cannot fight against the Rinzin power of the Phantom Beasts. The three Generals used the Rinzin power to control the three Masters. The Spirit Rangers are created. Master Phant's Spirit Ranger is the Elephant Ranger. Under the control of the Rinzin power, Master Phant and the rest send out the Spirit Rangers into Ocean Bluff. The Spirit Rangers attack Casey, Theo, RJ, Dominic, and Lily. They are knocked off their feet and hit the ground.
Master Phant and the rest of the Masters were chain to the all inside the temple. General Scorch: Awaken. Master Phant and the rest moved forward, ready to battle. Each move Master Phant and the rest made where duplicated by the Spirit Rangers battling the Rangers. The battled continued until Wolf Ranger thought he saw his dad's eyes beneath the helmet. Wolf Ranger says dad and Master Finn breaks out of the spell for a moment. Master Finn quickly slams Master Phant and Master Swoop against the wall. It is enough to break the spell for the moment, and the Spirit Rangers vanished. General Scorch: Take them away. The Rinshi dragged the Masters back to their cells. Master Phant: Take your hands off me! Later Dai Shi wants the Spirit Rangers to attack. General Scorch does not agree, but does so when Dai Shi growls at him. Dynamir is sent as well to help the Spirit Rangers. Master Phant and the rest are back under control. Master Phant and the rest have the Spirit Rangers battle Dominic, who is alone. Dynamir catches Dominic in one of his boomerangs. Master Phant and the rest then have the Spirit Rangers surround Lily and "Theo". Dynamir captures both of them as well. Master Phant and the rest then have the Spirit Rangers attack Casey and RJ. Dynamir quickly catches them. Dynamir thinks he has all five Rangers, when in fact "Theo" is actually Theo's identical twin brother Lewin. Theo does arrive. Theo uses a device RJ made. The device blocks signals. Master Phant and the rest are ready to have the Spirit Rangers attack Theo, but Theo uses the device on them. The Spirit Rangers vanish. Master Phant and the rest are exhausted as they are hauled back against the wall. Eventually the Rangers will destroy Dynamir. Dai Shi is not happy and tells General Scorch he hopes his generals are more powerful than his warriors.
Master Phant, Master Swoop, and Master Finn were once more chained to the wall. Generals Whiger and Snapper were there. Dai Shi entered, along with Camille and General Scorch. Dai Shi passed in front of the Masters. Master Finn: Jarrod. Dai Shi paused. Master Finn: Think back to Pai Zhug. You were honorable, virtuous. You can be again. Dai Shi seemed confused for a moment, then the scowl returned and he walked on. General Scorch: Quiet you! General Scorch used his Rinzin power against Master Finn. Master Finn was in a great deal of pain. Suddenly Dai Shi stopped General Scorch with his Zocato power. General Scorch and Camille were stunned. General Scorch: You protect him! A human! Dai Shi said nothing for a moment, he was just as surprise by his actions as the rest. But Dai Shi gathered himself together. Dai Shi: Your outburst will weaken his spirit. Don't do it again. The generals got in front of the Masters. They used their Rinzin power to charge up the crystal eyes. Soon the Masters were under their control. The Spirit Rangers leaped out of the sky into the woods where the Rangers were searching for them. A battle quickly followed. Elephant Ranger battled Rhino Ranger. Shark Ranger battled Red Ranger, Blue Ranger, and Yellow Ranger. Bat Ranger battled Wolf Ranger. The Spirit Rangers were having an easy time against the Rangers. Red Ranger; Guys, let's do it! Yellow Right: Right! The Claw Cannon appeared. Red Ranger, Blue Ranger, and Yellow Ranger: Claw Cannon! Powered by Animal Spirits! Charged! Shark Ranger began to walk towards them. Yellow Ranger: I hope this works. Red Ranger: Steady. But the three Rangers were hesitant to fire at Shark Ranger. Wolf Ranger: Rangers fire! Red Ranger: Alight, fire! The blast from the cannon hit Shark Ranger. Shark Ranger vanished. Moments later, Elephant Ranger and Bat Ranger vanished as well. Master Finn was transported into the crystal eye. He was trapped there. Master Phant and Master Swoop were slammed back to the wall by the chains. Later, the two remaining Spirit Rangers were used once more in battle. Unidoom had been sent out to the city, and the citizens ran terrified. Four of the Rangers arrive. Elephant Ranger battles Yellow Ranger. Bat Ranger battles Blue Ranger. Red Ranger and Rhino Ranger battle Unidoom. The two Spirit Rangers and Unidoom have an easy time against the four Rangers. Red Ranger calls in his Strike Rider. Red Ranger gets a blow to Unidoom, but Unidoom fires back and the Strike Rider is out of commission. Red Ranger then goes not Jungle Fury Mode. Blue Ranger and Yellow Ranger do the same. Yellow Ranger uses her Jungle Mace against Elephant Ranger. Elephant Ranger has his own mace and he battles it against her. Bat Ranger and Blue Ranger use their Jungle Fans against each other. Red Ranger and Rhino Ranger are kept busy battling Unidoom. Unidoom knocks Red Ranger to the ground. Red Ranger contacts RJ, telling him they need help. After awhile, the two Spirit Rangers vanish. The four Rangers continue their battle against Unidoom. Master Phant and Master Swoop are once more slammed into the wall by their chains. They are exhausted and slid down to the floor. RJ and Master Finn are there. RJ and Master Finn had battled the Rinshi and defeated them. RJ had smashed the crystal eyes, releasing Master Phant and Master Swoop from the Phantom Beast Generals' control. RJ and Master Finn raced over to make sure they are okay. Dai Shi enters. Dai Shi is happy to have all four masters. But the Masers are not threaten. They tell Dai Shi that if he had wanted to get rid of them, he cold easily have done so. It's because of Jarrod's black lion and his humanity that has stop Dai Shi. Dai Shi does not like that and uses Zocato power against the Masters. Master Phant and the rest fall to the floor. RJ gets up and battles Dai Shi. Master Finn helps the two Masters back to their feet. RJ is knocked to the floor once more. RJ uses his wolf spirit against Dai Shi. This causes the chamber to fall around Dai Shi. The four Masters quickly leave. They go to the city. Unidoom had just defeat Red Ranger, Blue Ranger, Yellow Ranger, and Rhino Ranger. Wolf Ranger arrives, but Unidoom is not concern. Unidoom has just defeated four Rangers, one more won't make a difference. Then Elephant Ranger, Shark Ranger, and Bat Ranger step forward. Unidoom is more concern. Camille steps forward and summons several Rinshi. Camille then transforms into her chameleon from. Both sides race into battle. Elephant Ranger, Shark Ranger, Bat Ranger, Red Ranger, Yellow Ranger, Blue Ranger, and Rhino Ranger battle the Rinshi. Wolf Ranger and Camille battle. The Rangers defeat the Rinshi. Elephant Ranger, Shark Ranger, and Bat Ranger charge towards Unidoom. Using their weapons, the three Rangers destroy Unidoom. After the battle, Master Phant, Master Swoop, and Master Finn go to the loft. They wait there for their friends. Soon Dominic, RJ, Lily, Casey, and Theo return to the loft. They are delighted to see them. Lily gives Master Phant a hug. Casey tells Master Finn they thought for sure he was gone, with the Claw Cannon. Master Finn replies he's not that easy to get rid of. The Masters tell them the Spirit Rangers are at their disposal. Master Finn encourages them to work as a team and fight strong. RJ adds and to take the risk.
Master Phant was at the Pai Zhug school, along with Masters Swoop and Finn. RJ arrive with Lily, Casey, and Theo. It was time for Casey, Theo, and Lily to take their Master's test. Theo and Lily are excited. Casey is not. To become a Master, they must defeat their Master. There is time for meditation before the test. Theo and Lily sit and mediate. Casey goes up to RJ. Casey wants RJ to help him, but RJ cannot. Casey returns and it is time for the test. Master Phant and Lily battle. Lily is confident and so is Master Phant. The battle is difficult. Eventually Lily releases her cheetah spirit. Master Phant releases his elephant spirit. The cheetah spirit defeats the bat spirit. Lily is thrilled and Master Phant smiles at Lily's success. Soon the test ends. The students line up in front of the students. Master Swoop congratulates Theo on passing the test. Master stripes appear on Theo's arm and he is very happy. Master Phant tells Lily that it is his honor to be the first to call her Cheetah Master. Master stripes appear on Lily's arm. Lily is thrilled and Master Phant tells her he knew she could do it and smiles at her. Casey is confident Master Finn will tell him he has passed as well. Instead Master Finn tells Casey he did not pass the test. Theo and Lily are surprised - Casey had done everything he had done. Casey is upset, but Master Finn's word is final.
Days later, Casey would earn his tiger stripes when he managed to get through to Jarrod. Jarrod and Dai Shi separated. Dai Shi sent General Scorch and numerous Rinshi to attack the city and stir up fear. Wolf Ranger and Rhino Ranger had been battling General Scorch, but they were soon defeated. Wolf Ranger and Rhino Ranger had hit the pavement and demorph. General Scorch was about to strike again when Masters Phant, Finn, and Swoop arrived. Master Finn: Stop! Leave them alone! General Scorch: Am I suppose to be afraid of three old men? Master Phant: Let's show him what these old men can do. Masters Phant, Swoop, and Finn charged forward. The three Masters battled General Scorch, but they had a difficult time as well. General Scorch was mocking them when Red Ranger, Blue Ranger, and Yellow Ranger arrive. General Scorch tells them how the Rinshi are overpowering the city with fear. Masters Phant, Finn, Swoop, RJ, and Dominic take off to battle the Rinshi. In a different part of the city, the Masters Phant, Swoop, Finn, RJ, and Dominic battle the numerous Rinshi. They eventually destroy the Rinshi, but the citizens are running in fear. They try to keep them calm, but it's not working. Casey, Theo, and Lily join them and tell them General Scorch has been scorched. Casey, Theo, and Lily had also been to see Jarrod to convince him to fight alongside them, but Jarrod refused and they give this information as well. Their worst fears are realized when Dai Shi appears in the sky above them. Dai Shi has gathered enough fear to open the portal to the other world and now all of his former warriors, The Five Fingers of Poison, Jellica, Grizzaka, Carnisoar, General Scorch, General Snapper, the Phantom Beast Warriors, numerous Rinshi, and the two Stone Warriors are back. Casey, Theo, RJ, Dominic, and Lily morph. The Spirit Rangers appear. Masters Phant, Swoop, Finn, and the Rangers face down Dai Shi's army and then the battle begins. Master Phant battles numerous Rinshi. Master Finn battles Jellica. Master Swoop battles Carnisoar. Suddenly several of the villains are knocked off their feet. Masters Lope, Guin, Rilla, and Mao have arrive. When Dai Shi opened the portal, it allowed them to enter as well. The Rangers stand aside as Master Phant and the rest of the Masters battle together against Dai Shi's warriors. Masters Phant, Mao, Guin, Lope, Rilla, Swoop, and Finn go into the highest level animal spirits. Having achieved this, the seven Masters destroy Dai Shi's warriors. Dai Shi then takes their spirits from them and turns into his final form - a dragon. The Rangers race over to make sure the Masters are okay. When the Rangers look up they see Dai Shi's new form. Dai Shi laughs at the frighten group. The Masters and the Rangers have a tough time against Dai Shi, as he easily blasts them off their feet. Dai Shi decides he will take his revenge on Red Ranger first and goes after him. Blue Ranger and Yellow Ranger race forward to help their friend. They are about to blasted by Dai Shi, when suddenly Dai Shi's blows are deflected. It is Camille, in her chameleon armor. Camille tells them she wants to help. Wolf Ranger and Rhino Ranger form two of the Megazords and they battle Dai Shi with the Megazords. Despite their best efforts, Dai Shi defeats them. Wolf Ranger and Rhino Ranger are ejected from their Megazords, hit the ground and demorph. The Rangers need to weaken Dai Shi. Jarrod arrives and is ready to weaken Dai Shi. Jarrod dons his armor and confronts Dai Shi. Dai Shi swallows him and it does make Dai Shi weaker. Master Mao tells them only the chosen protectors can destroy Dai Shi. Blue Ranger, Yellow Ranger, and Red Ranger demorph. Theo, Lily, and Casey use their energy to summon a higher level than ever achieve by student or Master. A powerful ball of energy is directed towards Dai Shi and Dai Shi is destroyed. With Dai Shi's destruction, the animal spirits are return to Master Phant and the rest of the Masters. Everyone is joyful and there is a lot of hugging. In the midst of the celebration, Jarrod, still in his armor, hits the ground. Jarrod loses his armor. Camille is concern and races over and asks him if he is okay. Jarrod, with a smile, tells Camille that he is better than okay, he is good. Master Phant and the rest of the Masters are proud of the Rangers.
