Gabby - Vicky Rodenyk
Gabby, Master Phant's niece, and Lily are practicing dance moves in the loft. Lily: Five, six seven, eight. Lily gives out the instructions as they dance. Lily: Side, side. Gabby is always a step or two behind the dance. Lily: Out, drop. Hold, three, four, explode. And turn, twist. Turn, down. The routine is done and Lily is very happy with it. Lily: Great, but remember it's kick, turn, hips, hands. Gabby: Lily, the routine's too hard. Lily: Gabby, Master Phant asked me to coach you right? As your coach, I'm telling you you've got the moves, just put it together. Gabby: I think maybe I pulled a muscle. My uncle said you'll help me, not hurt me. Lily: Hey, you kick with the other leg. Gabby: Well, they both hurt. Maybe I'm too tired for today. Lily: Tired, I see. You know you've got to push yourself if you want to compete. At this rate, you're not gong to be ready. RJ walked in from the galley above. RJ: Evening ladies. Lily, how long till you're done? It's all hands on deck downstairs. Gabby: Oh, that's okay. I have to go anyway. Lily: Will I see you tomorrow? Gabby: Maybe. The following day, Gabby returns to go through the dance moves with Lily. Gabby does much better and Lily is sure she is ready for the dance competition. Gabby lets fear creep in and thinks maybe she should enter next year, when she has fancier dance moves. At first, Lily tries to convince Gabby to go to the dance competition. This only creates more fear for Gabby. Lily then tells the story of her first competition and how she had wanted to back out. But Lily went through it and enjoyed it. Lily asks Gabby if she wants to dance and Gabby tells her more than anything. Casey walks in from the galley and tells Lily they need her. Gabby is nervous about going to the competition without Lily and asks her if she will be there. Instead of answering, Lily asks Lily if she wants to dance. Gabby tells her yes. Lily tells her to dance. Lily leaves with Casey. Gabby goes to the city and arrives for her competition. Gabby enters and gets her number, fifteen. She is nervous. Gabby looks around, but sees no sign of Lily. Since the competition if only up to dancer number three, Gabby isn't too worried. After awhile, it's Gabby's turn, but there is still no sign of Lily. Gabby takes a deep breath and enters the competition. After the competition, Gabby is leaving when Lily arrives. Lily apologizes and Gabby tells her it's okay. Gabby shows Lily her trophy, she got second place. Lily hugs her and tells her she knew she could do it. Lily also tells her that Master Phant will be so proud.
