Narrator: We are the vision in your dreams. We do not exist, yet we have been here since the beginning. We are Pai Zhug, the Order of the Claw. We train only the best.
Six students are waiting at the academy of the Order of the Claw. One of the students, Lily, wants to know what is going on. Her friend, Theo, tells her to go back to mediation. Finally Master Mao walks to the front of the group and tells them three of them will be selected. The students pair up into three separate groups and battle each other. During the battle, Lily's (cheetah), Theo's (jaguar), and Jarrod's (lion) animal spirits come out and each one defeats their opponent. Jarrod wants to continue the battle, even though his opponent has stopped. Master Mao stops Jarrod. Jarrod walks over to a young boy, a cub, and berates him for not having a towel ready for him. Casey, another cub, steps in and offers Jarrod a towel. Jarrod is not happy and knocks down Casey. Casey gets upset and his animal spirit, the tiger, comes up and forcefully knocks Jarrod to the ground. Jarrod gets up and wants to teach Casey a lesson, but is stopped once more by Master Mao. Master Mao decides instead of Jarrod, to have Casey come down with Lily and Theo. Lily and Theo sit together, wondering why Casey is with them, and not Jarrod. Master Mao walks up and they follow him.
Master Mao leads Lily, Casey, and Jarrod into the forbidden room. Master Mao tells them Jarrod has been dismissed, and in their hearts they know why. Master Mao tells Casey that he has the heart to stand up for other and has the potential to be a tiger master. Master Mao has chosen Casey to take the place of Jarrod. Master Mao tells them over ten thousand years ago, there was a great evil call Dai Shi. Dai Shi believed that animals should rule the planet and humans should be erase. Brave warriors channeled their animals spirits and after a great battle, they captured Dai Shi in a stone box, that Master Mao shows them. Master Mao lefts his arm and tells them the Pai Zhug, the Order of the Claw, was formed to train students in kung fu and to serve as protectors in case the evil escapes. Casey begins to protest when Jarrod walks in. Jarrod is angry, he has spent ten years training. Jarrod tells Master Mao he can't kick him off for no reason. Master Mao tells him he is right, but Master Mao has a reason. Jarrod begins to battle Master Mao as the rest watch shocked. Master Mao defeats Jarrod with ease. Master Mao tells Jarrod to leave. Jarrod does so, but at the last moment, uses his lion spirit to destroy Master Mao. Master Mao drops the stone box and it opens, and nothing happens. Jarrod is amused.
But that quickly changes as Dai Shi emerges from the stone box. The four teens and Master Mao are knocked off their feet. Dai Shi greets Master Mao as an old friend, but in reality wants nothing more than to hurt him. Dai Shi plans to destroy Master Mao, but first wants to destroy his students. Master Mao steps forward and Dai Shi attacks him and defeats him. Jarrod slips away. After Dai Shi defeats Master Mao, he decides Casey, Theo, and Lily are not worth his time and leaves. Lily, Casey, and Theo gathered around Master Mao. Master Mao tells them that his time in this form has ended and tells them to shed no tears. There are important things to do. The evil that is Dai Shi will return to where he was captured, you must destroy him. Master Mao gives them an envelope and tells them they must go to Ocean Bluffs, that is where there new Master is. Lily doesn't want a new Master. Master Mao tells Lily the first rule, don't be attach to the Master. Casey protests, he is not ready. Master Mao gets angry and tells them they are the world's only chance. Master Mao then turns into streams of light and heads upward. Elsewhere, Jarrod is in the woods, but has an uneasy feeling that he is being followed. He stops several stops, but sees nothing. A force attacks Jarrod. In Ocean Bluffs, Casey, Theo, and Lily find the address and it is a pizza parlor. They quickly spot an elderly man sitting on the booth and assume this is their new Master and they introduce themselves. They soon find out that is not the case as the guy asks for a check. The owner of the place, RJ, comes out covered in pizza dough and assumes they are new customers. Lily tells RJ they are looking for their new Master and RJ responds aren't they all. Theo is ready to leave, but Casey and Lily are hungry and decide to stay for some pizza. Meanwhile, Dai Shi prepares his domain. Dai Shi pours power onto the floor and chants. Soon his army of Rinshi appears. Dai Shi chooses one to become the Mantor. Dai Shi is ready to send his army into the city to destroy it. Before they leave, Dai Shi asks where Camille is. Camille then comes out of the wall and Dai Shi asks where she has been. Camille responds that she likes his new look. Dai Shi asks Camille where she has been and she responds that she has been waiting in the wall for over ten thousand years, waiting for him. Dai Shi asks Camille to sit with him as he sends his army out. Back at the pizza parlor, RJ offers them jobs while they are waiting for their Master to appear. Theo is against the idea, but Lily insists they need money to cope in this world. Screaming comes from outside. Lily and Theo are ready to head out the door, but Casey wants to stay behind. Theo won't let that happen and grabs Casey. They all head out into the city and see the Rinshi for the first time. Lily, Casey, and Theo battle the Rinshi. Mantor is there as well and reveal his true monster form. The three teens have a difficult time against Mantor and the Rinshi and are defeated.
As Casey, Theo, and Lily gathered together, RJ steps in front of them. RJ reveals himself to be part of the Pai Zhug as well. RJ battles Mantor. Mantor loses his monster form and retreats. Theo, Lily, and Casey run up to RJ and realize he is their new master. RJ acknowledges that he is but doesn't want the bowing and prefers to be called simply RJ. RJ and the teens head back to the pizza parlor. Mantor returns to Dai Shi. Dai Shi is not very happy with Mantor and Camille would love to see Dai Shi destroy Mantor. Instead, Dai Shi sends Camille out with Mantor to show him how it's done. Camille dons her warrior mode and heads out with Mantor and the Rinshi. RJ and the teens enter the pizza parlor to find a frazzled Fran. Fran had taken care of the pizza parlor while they were gone and is a bit amped up from the experience. Several times RJ tells Fran to breath. RJ introduces Fran, a regular customer, to Lily, Casey, and Theo. After Fran leaves, RJ takes the three teens through the kitchen and into their new home and headquarters. The teens are impressed and quickly learn which chair is the one only RJ can sit in. RJ gives the teens new training treads as well. The TVs show the Rinshi back in the city. Lily, Casey, and Theo are ready to take off and are surprised that RJ is not following them. RJ tells them no, he has to take care of the pizza place, but decides to give the three teens something extra. RJ knows someone connected with the morphing grid, and although the Power Rangers are not connected with the Pai Zhug, decides to make Casey, Theo, and Lily Power Rangers. Theo is very excited as he always wanted to be a Power Ranger, since he was a kid. RJ gives Theo, Lily, and Casey morphers that look like sunglasses. The morphers will give them all the knowledge and technology they need once they are activated. Lily, Casey, and Theo head out into the city of Ocean Bluffs and face down Camille and the Rinshi. Lily and Theo morphed with ease into the Yellow and Blue Rangers. Casey watches amazed as Yellow Ranger and Blue Ranger battle the Rinshi. Casey puts on his sunglasses and tries to morph, but nothing happens. To make matters worse, Casey sees that Fran is being threaten by Mantor and he is surrounded by Rinshi.
