Chad Lee - The Blue Lightspeed Rescue Power Ranger
Chad Lee was working at a water show. He loves the ocean and all the creatures in it. His enjoyment was reflected in the show and the crowds love it. As he was getting ready to leave, two men in dark sunglasses approached him. They wanted to take him to a place called the Aquabase. Chad entered the helicopter and saw other people in the helicopter as well. The trip from a helicopter was followed by a trip in the submarine. Then Chad saw the buildings under the water - the Aquabase. Once inside Chad and the others were lead to a conference room. There a man, Captain Mitchell, explained why he had brought them all together. It was a story involving demons, tombs, wizards and Rangers. Chad quietly listen to it all. Joel and Kelsey were in disbelief. Before they could leave, Carter began to tell them what he had seen in a building. Then an alert went up and all of them watch a monster destroying Mariner Bay. That was all Chad needed. With the simple words "I want to help" he became the Blue Lightspeed Rescue Ranger.
Life at the Aquabase wasn't hard for Chad. Living in the ocean couldn't be a better spot for him. Chad was able to get up early in the morning to swim with the fish. The training wasn't too difficult. Chad is an expert martial artist, as well as enjoying scuba diving and surfing. He became friends with the other Rangers, but his closest relationship is with Kelsey.
Being a Ranger is never easy. During his time as a Ranger. Chad was temporarily replaced by Cyborg Rangers, found himself inside Prince Olympius' star power, a dangerous flower with poisonous spores attached to his wrist, frozen inside a monster's tummy, his memory erased
Chad has an inner strength and calmness about him. He is confident in who he is and doesn't feel the need to prove himself to anyone. His friend, Kelsey, is the complete opposite. Yet the two are very close. Chad tried to teach Kelsey relaxing exercises to help calm her excitable nature. During the lesson, Chad was confronted by a man who wanted to start a fight with Chad. Brian wanted to prove that he was tougher than Chad. Chad simply ignored him. But Brian persisted, stepping on Chad's towel and getting right into Chad's face. Within moments Chad had wiped the towel out from under Brian's feet and Brian was on the ground. Brian didn't give up and went after Chad again. Each time, Brian ended up on his back. Chad and Kelsey were both summoned over their morphers, and they were off.
Chad and Kelsey were together when Kelsey got the idea to blast away at a monster. Chad warned her to stop - that it would cause a back draft, but he was too late. Kelsey had already fired and the back draft hit them both hard. Chad and Kelsey were on the ground demorph. Chad came to first and immediately went over to help Kelsey. Kelsey wasn't doing so well and Chad quickly got her to the hospital. He felt guilty that he was unable to prevent what had happened. But as Joel told him, nothing can stop Kelsey when she sets her mind on something. Once more the Rangers were summoned to do battle. As they left the hospital, Chad noticed a batwing and the batwing was motioning to him. Although Carter was reluctant to let Chad go, Chad insisted he knew what he was doing. When he got close, the batwing handed him a scroll. As Chad read the scroll that had yet another challenge from Brian.
Chad went to the meeting place. Not only was Brian there, but Vypra and several batlings as well. Chad tried to talk to Brian - trying to get him out of the dangerous position he was in. Brian was under Vypra's spell and simply began to attack Chad. Once again Chad found himself battling Brian. One final blow landed Brian on his back. Chad walked over and offered his hand, simply telling Brian that it was over. But Vypra was having none of that. She ordered the batlings to take Chad and then ordered Brian to take out Chad. But this time, Brian refused. Vypra became more threatening and Brian advanced towards Chad. But instead of striking Chad, he strike a batwing instead. Chad quickly went into action and together the two of them defeated the batlings.
Chad was giving Kelsey another lesson in relaxing exercises. Afterwards the two of them talked. Kelsey wanted to teach Chad something. Then a tennis ball hit Kelsey on the head. Chad went to retrieve the tennis ball. The tennis ball happen to belong to a very pretty girl and Chad found himself tongue-tie and shy. Barely able to look at the girl, Chad handed her back the ball. As Chad watched the girl walked away, Kelsey came up to him. Once she got his attention, she told Chad that she knew what she was going to teach him - how to talk to girls.
Things became more intense when the Titanium Ranger showed up. Chad and the others had several battles with the Titanium Ranger before it was revealed that the Titanium Ranger was Captain Mitchell's son. Eventually Ryan would join the Chad and the other Rangers. Making them a powerful team of six.
Chad and the other Rangers had finally defeated Diabolico. But the battles were hardly over. Much to their astonishment, a new threat arrive in the form of Prince Olympius. Prince Olympius would prove to be a powerful foe. On top of all that, Queen Bansheera was making an attempt to return to her bodily form. Chad and the other Rangers managed to stop that threat. Instead Queen Bansheera had returned in a mutated body form. She was very intent on destroying the Rangers and Mariner Bay.
During a training session, Chad would be challenge once again. This time by his former karate instructor. His instructor was disappointed that Chad did not continue with his training, dismissing his talent and worth as a Blue Lightspeed Rescue Ranger. Chad considered Sensei to be like a second father to him and he was hurt by his instructor's brunt attitude towards him. Chad had respect for his sensei and he tried to tell him that he needed to follow his own path.
Later Chad was even more surprise to discover that his former instructor was training a Cyclopter. A monster that the Rangers had defeated previously. As soon as Chad saw Cyclopter and sensei together, he rushed to protect his instructor. But sensei would have none of it. Sensei was flattered by the monster's lies and took Cyclopter's defense over Chad. More humiliation followed for Chad when he was unable to defeat Cyclopter.
Chad was furious with sensei and no longer wanted to help him. But Kelsey's gentle words of pride made Chad realized that his instructor was in great danger. Chad found sensei alone and in a great deal of pain. Sensei had been badly beaten by Cyclopter. At first his instructor did not think Chad had it in him to defeat the monster, but Chad soon prove him wrong.
Chad soon found himself facing Cyclopter and he was more than ready to teach this monster a lesson. Refusing to let the other Rangers help him, Chad used his incredible marital arts skills on Cyclopter. It was a skilled battle and one that Chad won. Seeing Chad's victory made sensei realized that he had been wrong about Chad. After the defeat of Cyclopter, Chad was back in his quarters. He was still feeling down about how sensei felt about him. Much to Chad's surprise, sensei was behind Kelsey. Humbly he asked Chad if he could give him a tour of the Aquabase. Chad was honored and thrilled to do. Now there was mutual respect on both sides.
Against his better judgment, Chad was spying on Miss Fairweather along with Joel. Miss Fairweather was having a picnic in a car with a guy Joel thought was her boyfriend. Joel spied some sprinklers and talked Chad into helping him set them off. The sprinklers went off and soon Miss Fairweather appeared. Chad was lucky in that Miss Fairweather had directed most of her anger towards Joel. Before Chad could even say anything, a monster appeared. Chad went quickly into action. Chad and Joel were having a tough time with the monster, when Miss Fairweather told them to press 8-6-1 on their morphers. This gave Chad a powerful weapon that is capable of putting out fires and encasing a monster's leg in ice.
Chad was back at the ocean on his surf board when he noticed a couple of guys throwing trash into the ocean. He went over and gave them a hard time, telling them the ocean wasn't a trash can. The guys on top of the pier only laugh and continue to throw trash into the ocean. Chad knew how to fix them. He got closer to the pier and gave it a mighty kick. The guys came tumbling down into the ocean - no longer laughing as they scramble to pick up the trash that they had tossed. Chad heard a quiet giggle. Turning his head in the direction of the sound, Chad saw the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. Kelsey's lessons must have pay off, cause this time Chad wasn't shy about introducing himself to the girl under the pier. She remain silent as Chad fired away questions. Chad heard Kelsey called his name and turned his head to face her. When he turned back the girl was gone. Chad got out of the ocean and followed Kelsey back to the vehicle. As they both got into the vehicle, Chad took one last look for the girl.
At the Aquabase, Chad was given instructions on his next assignment. There had been a rock slide and one of the video cables was damaged. Chad was confident as he proceeded with this task. The job went fairly smoothly and soon he was headed back towards the Aquabase. There was suddenly a rock slide and Chad was underneath it. As Chad slowly opened his eyes, he found himself back at the Aquabase. The other Rangers were by his bedside. They were asking him questions about what had happened. Bits and pieces drifted into Chad's mind. The girl beneath the pier - she had pulled him up. But that couldn't be right. After all, hadn't he also seen a mermaid's tail. Thinking Chad needed to rest, the other Rangers left him. Kelsey turned off the lights as she went. Chad laid in the darkness trying to sort out what had happen. The room began to glow. Slowly, Chad stood up and move his bed curtain. There was the girl who had saved him. In astonishment Chad walked towards the window. The girls was on the other side of the window. Chad placed his hand on the window and she placed hers over his. It was a magic moment, but then the mermaid swam away.
Chad spent the following day searching for her. Reluctantly he brought his ski jet in. As he walked along the pier, he heard his name. There in the water was the beautiful girl. A smile broke over Chad's face as he went to the edge of the pier. He thanked her for saving his life and asked her what her name was. Marina handed him a gift. Chad opened the pretty box decorated with seashells and saw a beautiful dolphin within. Before Chad could say another word, the dolphin changed into chains that had Chad tightly constrained. Vypra and several batlings appeared. Vypra made as if Marina had tricked Chad. At first Chad was stunned that he had been so deceived. But when Marina yank Vypra's foot out from under her, he knew that it had been one of Vypra's deceptions. Horrified, still bound in chains, Chad watched as the batlings threw a huge net over Marina. Attached to the net was a one ton weight. Chad could do nothing as Marina shivered with fright before going under the water. That did it for Chad. Straining every muscle in his body, he broke through the chains. During the battle, he ended up with a sharp object that could cut through heavy rope. Within seconds, Chad was diving in the water. He found Marina and quickly set her free. Then Chad returned to the surface to deal with Vypra. He was totally disgusted by the way Vypra had used the innocent Marina. Another battle broke out, this time with the other Rangers to help, and they soon had Vypra on the run.
As the sun was setting, Chad was on the pier. Wondering if Marina was okay and if he would ever see her again. Then there was movement in the water and Marina appeared in the water. Chad was happy to see that she was okay. Chad vowed to protect her and wanted to make plans to spend more time together. Marina wanted the same thing, but it wasn't meant to be. They were of two different worlds. Painfully, Marina told Chad that she would never forget him and was soon out of sight. Chad could only stand there as his heart shattered. After a while, Kelsey was by his side. As Chad told her, he knew when he would know the right girl for him. Marina had been that girl.
Chad, Joel, Dana and Kelsey were returning to the Aquabase after another rescue effort. Chad was eager to get back into the water. They spied a man in the middle of the road. Quickly, Chad stopped the vehicle and they all ran out to help the man. The man turned out to be Leo, the Red Galaxy Ranger. Leo tried to explain quickly what was going on and they he had been hurt by ghouls. Chad asked Leo what ghouls were and as soon as the words were out of his mouth, they appeared. Quickly, Chad, Dana, Kelsey and Joel morphed into action, but the ghouls were tough. It took Leo's quasar saber to destroy them. Afterwards, they all headed back for the Aquabase. There Chad also meet Maya and Kai. Both groups sat at the table, as Leo filled them all in on what was going on. Another alarm was off and both teams of Rangers were off as well. There Chad and the other Rangers confronted TriSkull. A battled followed with the Rangers beaten.
After the defeat, Carter came up with a plan. Heather, the young girl that Carter befriended, pulled the alarm in the building where Trakeena was at. Chad helped get the people within the building out safely. As he was getting the fireman gear back in order, Chad heard over his morpher, trouble for Leo and Carter up in the building. Acting quickly, he backed up the vehicle and released the flotation mattress. Not only did Leo and Carter come falling out the building, but Kendrix and Damon as well. There was much time to give introductions as Prince Olympius made an appearance. Prince Olympius thought he could defeat both teams of Rangers, but he was wrong. Chad and the other Rangers had morphed and the two powerful sources had Prince Olympius on the run. But not before Prince Olympius had tossed a tampered dagger towards Trakeena. This dagger changed Trakeena into a huge, mutated, monster. It was a powerful battle, but with the help of the galactic beasts and the lights of Orion, the Rangers were able to defeat Trakeena. Chad had a lot of respect for the Galaxy Rangers and their adventures with Trakeena. Unfortunately the Galaxy Rangers were unable to stay and headed back to Mirinoi.
Chad didn't enjoy the ocean as much as he used to. It reminded him too much of Marina. Chad simply sat on the beach. Even the waves reaching him, didn't seem to matter. Then like a mirage Marina appeared out of the ocean. And she had beautiful legs. Chad couldn't believe his eyes. He wanted to ask her a dozen questions, but there wasn't time. Diabolico had sent a monster to steal King Neptune's trident. Their plan was to use the trident to drain all the water in Mariner Bay. Thus, destroying both worlds. Together, Chad and Marina raced to try and stop the monster. As they were running, Marina became weak. Chad immediately stop and help get her to a spot where she could rest. Marina could only stay out of the water for a short time. Chad did not want to leave her side, but Marina insisted that he go.
Chad reach the lake where the trident was. The other Rangers had joined him, but Chad didn't wait. He dove in and retrieve the trident. Once he had it, he was ready to restore the water to Mariner Bay. But there was a surprise for him. Vypra appeared and she had captured Marina. Vypra demanded the return of the trident. Chad was ready to give it to her for the release of Marina. But Marina begged him not to, the power of the trident would destroy them all. Chad was literally torn. He wanted to do the right thing, but he also wanted Marina out of harm's way. Before he could think it through, Vypra sent a monster upon them. The Rangers went into action.
After the monster's defeat, Chad rushed to Marina's side. She was doing poorly and needed to be in salt water quickly. Chad raced to get Marina to the Aquabase, while the rest of the Rangers finished off the rest of the battle. Chad got Marina to the Aquabase and had her in salt water, but she didn't come to. Quietly he kept pouring small amounts of water on her forehead. Even Miss Fairweather was unable to help Marina. Slowly Marina opened her eyes. Chad was so relieved to see that she was okay. The water began to form and it was King Neptune. He thank Chad for saving Marina and taking care of her, but now Marina would be back in his care. As so many times in the past, Chad held onto her hand as long as he could. As Marina slowly slip out of his grasp, he still held his hand out. Reaching for the girl he couldn't have.
Once more, Chad was at the beach. He missed Marina terribly. Then he heard Marina call his name. Chad turned to face her. Marina was standing on her legs. They walked slowly towards each other. Marina couldn't stay - she just wanted to thank Chad for saving her. Chad did not want it to end like this. He decided he would make the most of the time that they could spend together. Smiling they raced into the ocean together.
Things became more intense for Chad and the other Rangers. At a briefing, the Rangers receive a message from Ryan - warning them of Queen Bansheera's plans. Carter left to go help Ryan. Chad, Joel, Dana and Kelsey soon found the Aquabase under attack by swarms of batlings and their own Megazord. Quickly they got the crew of the Aquabase out to safety. When they realized Captain Mitchell was not with them, the Rangers and Miss Fairweather went back for him. The Megazord destroyed the connecting tunnel and Chad and the others were trapped. The batlings continued to break the small windows over the doors to the room. Chad quickly use the emergency button to seal the rest of the small windows. But now Chad and the others were trapped in the room.
Chad watched as the water slowly crept into the Aquabase. He saw Kelsey sitting on the floor and went to sit beside her. Chad admitted to being scare but was glad he was among friends. Soon the Ranger's attention was on the screen. There they watched their Megazord putting Queen Bansheera's palace together. That prompted Chad and the others into action. They began to look for a way out. Joel had found a shaft but it was filled with water. That wasn't going to stop Chad. Grabbing an oxygen tank, Chad decided to go into the shaft and check to see if the passageway was clear. Within moments Chad was back with the good news - they could make it to where the submarine was held. Together they all entered the shaft and swam towards the submarine. Quickly they entered the submarine, but the batlings were not about to let them off that easily. They began to damage all the controls surrounding the submarine. The Rangers set off two missiles and soon the place was filled with water and they were off. As soon as they reached ground they were off to where they saw the Megazord. It laid in pieces but the palace was completed. All the Rangers entered the palace to stop Queen Bansheera. A fierce battle broke out. During the battle Carter had gone over the tomb. Frantically Chad and the others tried to reach him to pull him back up. Much to Chad's amazement a golden light appeared heading towards Carter and Queen Bansheera. It was Diabolico and he broke Queen Bansheera's grip on Carter. Without Queen Bansheera's weight, Chad and the others were able to pull Carter up. Quickly they sealed the tomb. There wasn't much time for celebration as the palace began to crumble. Chad and the other Rangers raced outside. Once outside they watched as Queen Bansheera's palace was reduced to dust.
With Queen Bansheera gone, the Rangers were no longer needed. Chad was ready to go back to his water show and he turned in his morpher to Captain Mitchell. As he walked away he heard and saw a fire truck come into vision. Hearing that siren, Chad realized that the city still needed his help. And he still wanted to help his city. The other Rangers felt the same way. Chad raced behind the fire truck. Mariner Bay hadn't lost it's Blue Lightspeed Rescue Ranger.
Chad decided not to go back to the water show. Instead he became a lifeguard. Chad was on duty when he received a call from Carter. Carter needed Chad's help in defeating Vypra and a demon. Chad, Dana, Joel, and Kelsey arrived just in time to see the demon advanced towards Carter and the Time Force Rangers. Quickly they fire at the demon and raced to Carter and the Time Force Rangers. A quick round of introductions followed. Ransik was not impressed about fighting ten Rangers. Then Ryan and Eric showed up. The two Ranger teams line-up in an impressive show of strength. It was a fierce battle, with Chad, Joel, Carter, Wes, and Eric using their armor to gear to destroy Vypra and the demon. Afterwards, Chad and his friends were given a tour of the clock tower. Wes wanted to thank the Lightspeed Rescue Rangers and give them Time Force uniforms. Chad was startled and didn't know what to say. Chad and his friends had similar ideas. Chad and the other Rangers handed their Lightspeed Rescue jackets. Both teams had enjoyed their time together with the Time Force Rangers giving Chad and the rest of the Rangers an escort back to Mariner Bay.
