Dana Mitchell - The Pink Lightspeed Rescue Power Ranger
Dana Mitchell had been working alongside with her father on the Lightspeed project for as long as she could remember. She didn't listen to typical fairy tales from her father. Instead Dana heard stories of demons locked away in a tomb by a powerful soccer. About the need to keep a close eye, in case the demons should ever be released again. As soon as she was old enough, Dana began watch over the possible release of the demons. She is an earnest young woman who took her responsibilities seriously. This serious was in her from an early age, when she lost her older brother in a car accident. The loss of her brother made Dana want to prevent the same tragedy to fall on other people. On top of the Lightspeed work, she became a paramedic as well. Intelligence and determination was not lacking in this young woman.
The unthinkable finally happen. The demons were accidentally released. Dana had to inform her father, Captain Mitchell, of the news. With the information, Captain Mitchell sent Dana to retrieve four other young people. Dana carried their folders in her hands and rode in the car as the two men who accompanied her slowly gathered the other people. She noted their bewildered expressions but said nothing. Chad Lee, Joel Rawlings, and Kelsey Winslow were contacted and on their way. Only once, did Dana get out of the car herself. The last person was Carter Grayson and he was in a burning building. Dana watched the brave fireman, with a small child in his arms, burst out of an exploding window. Dana's natural instinct is to help other people, and she made her way to Carter and the child. Carter had no idea who the lovely blonde was, but when she said she was a paramedic, he walked wearily to the fire truck. After the rescue, it was awkward for Dana to approach Carter, but she knew more danger was ahead if she did not. Dana told Carter that he needed to come with her and that there wasn't much time.
Joel, Kelsey, Chad, and Carter were very impressed with their journey to the Aquabase. Once inside, they were even more impressed. Dana had practically grown by surrounded by all the gleaming technology and comfortable her. She simply wanted to get the others quickly to her father. In the conference room, there were a few protests but eventually Captain Mitchell got everyone settled down and explained the situation to them. At first disbelief greeted Captain Mitchell, but demon attack was going on even as Captain Mitchell spoke. As they all view the screen, each one knew that they had to held. Dana smiled, her father had chosen the Lightspeed Rescue Rangers well. But there was a surprise waiting for her. As each Ranger took their morpher, there was one left. Dana was puzzled by the fifth morpher, until her father explained that the morpher was for her. Dana was thrilled to become the Pink Lightspeed Rescue Ranger.
The numerous battles with Diabolico and his various monsters pulled the Rangers together. They became close friends. Dana enjoyed sharing her quarters with the outgoing Kelsey and being the only two female Rangers, they became close friends. The other Rangers became more confident with each battle, but a small doubt stayed within Dana. She wondered if her father thought of her as a Ranger or his little girl. The Rangers were called into a meeting. An important cell needed to be transferred to the Aquabase before Diabolico could get a hold of it. Captain Mitchell sent the Rangers off to escort the cell, but called Dana back. Dana wanted to leave with the other Rangers and was impatience that she had to stay behind. When her father told her that she was going to be given a different assignment, she was puzzled. Captain Mitchell told Dana that she would be escorting his old fishing buddy to the Aquabase. Dana was furious. All her doubts about how her father view her came to the surface. She let her father have it, but Captain Mitchell would not be swayed.
Angrily Dana left to pick up Earl, her father's fishing buddy. Reaching his home, she was bemused at how the older man treated her - as if she was a little girl. Dana barely contained her impatience as she got into Earl's old truck. Once Earl was in the truck, Dana was off. The air in the truck became hotter and Dana fanned herself to keep cool. Another frustration to add to her bad mood. Then she got a call from Carter over her morpher. Dana was more than ready to dump Earl and help her friends. But her father insisted that she bring Earl back to the base. More upset than ever, Dana kick the truck into high gear as she raced to get Earl to the Aquabase. Then to Dana's disbelief the truck was attacked. Dana got the truck to safety and scanned the area. Then she spotted Earl out of the truck. Quickly she raced over to Earl. To her amazement she saw that Earl had the cell with him. Earl saw Dana' s look of surprise and proceeded to tell her how Captain Mitchell had the utmost faith in her. Captain Mitchell with Dana on the job, Earl would be delivered safely to the Aquabase. Dana was touched by the trust her father had placed in her. As she bandaged up Earl's arm, he told her that she looked like her mother. Dana was even more overwhelm, and thrilled to talk to someone who knew her mother. Dana delivered Earl and the cell to the Aquabase and then left to help the other Rangers. At the end of the day, Dana made an apology to her father. He accepted it with good grace and Dana never had any doubts about the fact that her father was easy on her.
Dana enjoyed working on various gadgets. Her current project was a gadget that could measure volcanic activity. She was eager to test it out. The other Rangers had the Rescue Rover, so Dana decided to take the bus. She would make it an adventure. Dana was enjoying the beautiful day and the opportunity to be outside when her bus arrive. With a smile, she entered the bus and found a seat. The smile soon left her face as she spotted another man on the bus. This man had a bag full of money. It made Dana suspicious but she kept quiet. The bus rolled along peacefully at first, but then tremors begin to shake the very road they were on. The bus driver announced that they would have to turn the bus around. The young man, Steve, became angry and refuse to let the bus be turned around. He pulled out a gun and made the driver continue. Wanting to keep the other passengers safe, Dana stayed quiet but kept a sharp eye on Steve. To her distressed, Dana was being summoned by her morpher. Steve walked towards her to see what was going on. Dana refused to be intimated and soon they were in fight. Another tremor hit the bus. The bus was in a precarious position as it hung halfway off the road over a cliff. Steve had been tossed out the bus and was literally hanging on for his life. Dana knew she had to help and soon was lending her strength to pull Steve up. The other passengers were impressed by her courage and determination. One passenger got up to help Dana and the bus driver lent his support as well. Together they managed to pull Steve up and into the bus. Steve didn't know what to say, but Dana didn't need any thanks. The other Rangers had arrived and Joel had the bus back on safe ground. During all the previous commotion, the bus driver had hurt his arm and was unable to drive the bus back. The Red Ranger asked if there was anyone else who drive the bus. Reluctantly Steve volunteered to drive the bus. The other passengers did not want Steve to drive the bus, but Dana stood up for Steve. She told the other passengers that there was no choice and they would have to trust Steve. Reluctantly the other passengers gave their consent, and Steve vowed that they could trust him. Dana left with the Red Ranger, her spirit light. As she watched the bus descend down the mountain, she knew Steve would do his best. After another battle, Dana and the other Rangers made it back to see the bus had made it back safely. Dana was thrilled and Steve felt proud that he was able to help. He also thank her for saving his life. The police were not far behind and soon they had Steve apprehended. Dana felt torn about Steve being taken away and told the police officers how Steve had helped get the passengers to safely. The police thank Dana for the information. As Steve was lead away, he stop to let Dana know that he was prepare to pay for his crime and ready to start a new life. Dana was filled with happiness as she watched Steve continue. She had helped him get his priorities straight and she couldn't help but feel proud.
Dana kept up with the tradition of celebrating her older brother's birthday. She made a cake and lit the candles. Sharing it with her father, they both made a wish as they blew out the candles. Dana made the same wish that she always did. That the car accident never happen and that Ryan was still with them. It was a bittersweet moment. Dana and the other Rangers were in for a big battle. Someone had stolen the titanium powers and they were confronted with an evil Titanium Ranger. He was strong and powerful and it was tough going for them all. Miss Fairweather had design new, powerful weapons for them. V-Lancers should do the trick. Dana and the other Rangers did not want to destroy the Titanium Ranger but would if they had no choice. The battle was fierce and it look like the Rangers would defeat the Titanium Ranger. The Titanium Ranger turned his head revealing part of his face. Just as they were ready to fire their V-Lancers, the call came from Captain Mitchell not to fire. Although they did not want to, they did not fire about the Titanium Ranger. They were all angry as they returned to the Aquabase. Storming into Captain Mitchell's office they demanded an explanation. Dana was stunned to hear her father say that the Titanium Ranger was his son. Her brother! How could that be! Dana and the others listen in shocked silence as Captain Mitchell told them the story of the car crash. As they hung on and called for help. That Ryan was handing onto his foot when Diabolico appeared and made the offer to take Ryan. Captain Mitchell refused, but Ryan lost his grasp and was falling. Frantically Captain Mitchell for Diabolico to save his son's life. Unfortunately that meant that Diabolico was keeping Ryan and Captain Mitchell would not see his son again until his 20th birthday. Dana knew that her father had no choice in what had happen, but Captain Mitchell still could not shake his guilt over what had happened. Dana tried to help by confronting Ryan on her own. But he wouldn't listen to her. Eventually Ryan came to realize that he belonged with his family and joined the Lightspeed Rescue team. Dana was thrilled to have her big brother with them. And she enjoyed burying him in the sand.
Dana and the other Rangers defeated Diabolico, but the celebration was short-lived. A new, powerful enemy had appeared. Prince Olympius was ready to take over and he proved a formidable opponent. The Rangers had many battles with Prince Olympius and his various monsters. Queen Bansheera had return in a mutated body. Ryan made the difficult decision to leave and search for a way to trap the demons again. Dana was upset to see her brother leave. She felt like she had just gotten him back and he was leaving again. And Dana was not sure if she would ever see him again.
Things became very intense for Dana and the other Rangers. Prince Olympius came up with one devious plot after another. Dana became trapped in Prince Olympius's star power, a life-threatening vine strapped around her wrist, frozen in a monster's stomach and caught in a monster's web.
Despite all the pressures, Dana found time to relax and have fun. She and the other Rangers went to the beach as often as possible. Dana also enjoyed carnivals. She had a ready smile and laugh. Dana enjoyed jokes, even if her fellow Rangers didn't see it quite as funny as Dana.
Dana and the other Rangers helped Marina, a mermaid. Dana also meet the Lost Galaxy Rangers. Trakeena had come back and the two teams of Rangers joined together to battle Trakeena. They defeated her. Dana wanted the Galaxy Rangers to stay, but they were needed back on Mirinoi.
The intensity of the battles continue. Only once did Dana lose track of herself. She was studying hard to be a doctor and was concerned about money to go to college. Outside a building, a woman approached Dana about becoming a model. Dana was skeptical and wasn't interested. She didn't even like to have her picture. But when Coco Cashmere showed Dana a stack of money, Dana's eyes lit up. She would need a bundle to pay for college. Dana agreed to go with Coco to a photo shoot. Dana enjoyed the clothes, the jewels and all the fuss. The only thing that disturb her was when her morpher was remove. It felt strange not to have it's weight on her wrist. Dana later found out that the Rangers had needed her, but were unable to get a hold of her. Dana realized she had forgotten to put her morpher back on. She felt lousy and patched things up with Kelsey. The two young girls took off for a day together. As they walked along, Dana spied a magazine with her on the cover. It was exciting, and she dragged Kelsey with her to get a closer look. As she flipped through the pages, other people begin to notice the "glitz girl" in their presence. They soon crowded around her, Dana thrilled to being the center of attention. When the limo pulled up, she was overwhelm. Dana hopped into the limo without a second glance at Kelsey, whom she left stranded on the sidewalk.
All the attention and praise went to Dana's head. She began making demands and was no longer happy to sign autographs. Dana went along on the Ranger's workouts, but she did it with one eye on her nails and hair. When she receive a call for a fashion show, she was more than ready to go. Even Carter's words of concern about the monster being out there, did little to sway Dana. When Dana arrived at the premiere, Coco fairly hiss at her for wearing her morpher. Dana stopped as she listen to Coco's dismissal of her work as a Ranger. That finally got to her and Dana left to go help her friends. Later, Coco gave Dana a hard time for deserting her, but Dana would have none of it. She decided she was going to get to college on her brains not her beauty.
The final battle came. The Rangers were in conference, when they receive a transmission from Ryan - with details about Queen Bansheera's plan. Ryan was abruptly cut off. Carter volunteered to go help Ryan. Dana thought it was too dangerous and wanted Carter to stay, but he insisted on going. Queen Bansheera had control of the Megazords and was using one to build her palace and the other to destroy the Aquabase. Captain Mitchell went into shock as the Aquabase fell apart around him. Miss Fairweather took charge, and along with the remaining Rangers, got the crew to safety. Just as they were getting ready to leave, they discovered Captain Mitchell was still missing. They raced back to get him. Captain Mitchell was still in shock. Dana spoke gently to her father, remaining him that although the Aquabase was in shambles, they still needed him. Dana's words broke through his daze, but they were unable to leave. The connecting tube had been destroyed. For awhile, all Dana could do was crouch on the floor and cover her ears, as she watched the water seep in. The transmission of their Megazord building the Queen's palace stirred them all. Quickly Dana and the others began to look for a way out. A tunnel was discovered that would led to a submarine. They went in and arrived at the submarine. Before they could get the submarine in water, they were once again attacked by batlings. Dana and the others were determined that nothing was going to stop them. They shot off two torpedoes and the base filled with water. They were off. As soon as they reached shore, Dana and the other Rangers knew they had their work cut out for them. They meet up with Carter and Ryan. Dana was thrilled to see her brother again. There wasn't much time for a reunion as the Queen's palace was complete. Quickly they went in to do battle. Eventually, with Diabolico's help, the Queen was defeated and her palace became piles of dust.
Dana was excited to go back to a normal family life. One by one, the Rangers returned their morphers to Captain Mitchell. Each with plans to go back to their lives before. As Dana and Ryan walked along, they heard the sound of a siren. The siren made Dana paused. It was a sound very familiar to her as a Ranger and a paramedic. Slowly Dana and Ryan glanced at Carter. Carter nodded his head. Dana and the other Rangers raced behind the fire truck. All her life, Dana has helped people. It's in her blood and she isn't about to stop now.
Dana achieved her goal of becoming a doctor. With her easy manner and ready smile she was a big hit with the patients, especially little children. Dana was at work when she received a call from Carter. Carter needed her help. Vypra was trying to summon up a super demon and had enlisted Ransik's help. Dana was on her way, along with Joel, Chad, and Kelsey. When they arrived at the abandoned subway, Dana and the others could see that the super demon had already been summon and was heading towards Carter and the Time Force Rangers. Dana and her friends quickly fire off some shots which cause the demon to back away. Quickly Dana and the rest got to Carter and the Time Force Rangers. There was a quick run of introductions and then into action. Ryan and Eric had showed up too. Dana lined up along the rest of the Rangers. They would give Vypra and her super demon a formidable battle. Dana and Jen battled one of Vypra's warriors. The guys were soon in armor gear and Vypra and the super demon were destroyed in no time. Afterwards, Dana and the others were given a quick tour of the clock tower. Dana had been happy to help the Time Force Rangers. The Time Force Rangers had also had a good time and appreciate Dana and the other's help. To show their appreciation, the Time Force Rangers gave them their Time Force uniforms. Ironically, Dana and her friends had wanted to give the Time Force Rangers their Lightspeed Rescue jackets, which they did amid much laughter. The Time Force Rangers gave Dana and the rest of the Lightspeed Rescue Rangers an escort back to Mariner Bay.
