Quasar Quest, Part II - Page Two
Damon pauses. Kai tells them this Megaship is the only craft that has a chance of making it through. And if I can't save them, then they're gone. Forever. This Megaship flew in here. Now it's got to fly out. And I'm going to need your help. Damon almost chuckles - my help? Kai tells him, you said it yourself. You know this ship inside and out. I don't. Damon tells him that he wish he could help Kai's friends. But you'll be lucky if you get this thing off the ground. Damon starts to walk away once more. Kai is angry, but not about to give up. Kai instructs D.E.C.A. to close the exit ramps. Kai tells Alpha 6 that he needs his help. Alpha 6 is a bit flustered. Kai tries to figure out how to start the engines. The Astro Megaship begins to tilt and lights flash on and off. Alpha 6 tells Kai he is overheating the accelerator. Damon peers around the corner at the two. Shaking his head, Damon knows he is going to regret this. Damon walks to the control panel and takes over. With a few quick touches on the screen, the Astro Megaship recovers from Kai's clumsy attempts. Damon gives orders to Alpha 6 and D.E.C.A. Kai grins as Damon prepares the Astro Megaship for takeoff. Damon notices Kai's grin and tells him, as for you. Step back, don't touch a thing, and leave this to the pro. Shakily the Astro Megaship begins to take off. The citizens outside the convention center shield their faces from the force of the wind. The Astro Megaship bangs into a building on it's way up. Kai comments, like a pro. Damon is not shaken at all. Yeah, she's a little groggy, but she's waking up. A few more minutes and the Astro Megaship is high above the citizens. The citizens, especially the children, watch the Astro Megaship take to the skies with excitement.
Soon the Astro Megaship is in space. Damon continues to glide it along. Soon Kai spots a portal and points it out to Damon. As Damon heads the Astro Megaship towards the portal, Kai asks Alpha 6 if the ship will survive the energy flux. Alpha 6 answers with a stunned what? Damon is so surprised, he let's go of the controls. You wait till we get this far and now you wonder if we will survive?! The Astro Megaship begins to tilt and Kai quickly grabs the controls and manages to straighten out the ship. Damon concludes that he must be out of his mind. Damon takes the controls back and tells them to fasten their seatbelts. Damon directs the Astro Megaship straight into the portal.
Leo is walking Mirinoi. He soon spots a group of Stingwingers. Full of confidence, Leo is prepared to take on the Stingwingers. But there are more Stingwingers then Leo realized and he is easily overpowered. A Stingwinger gives Leo a hard kick and he goes flying, landing in some foliage. Thankfully Mike, Kendrix, and Maya happen to be close by. Mike tells Leo, I told you not to follow us. The Stingwingers go off in another direction and the four make their way out of the foliage. Once more, Maya leads the group.
Furio is standing in front of the rock with the five Quasar Sabers. Two Stingwingers have a firm hold on Jera. Furio yells at Jera to tell him how to release the Quasar Sabers or I will destroy your whole planet! Bravely, Jera replies, you'll never release them. You weren't chosen! Furio walks towards Jera and tells him he will pay dearly for such insolence. Furio is about to strike Jera with is sword when Maya shouts stop! Maya leaps in front of the villagers. Maya yells at Furio, don't touch him! Furio asks, and who's going to stop me? Mike, Kendrix, and Leo join Maya. Leo responses, all of us, that's who. But Furio is not impressed. Just the four of you. Kai shouts, wrong! Kai and Damon break through the crowd. Kai states, the six of us. Mike, Maya, Leo, and Kendrix smile at Kai and Damon. Furio gives the command to attack. The Stingwingers surge forward. Mike, Maya, Leo, Kendrix, Kai, and Damon fight the Stingwingers. The Stingwingers are very strong and it is difficult. Kai is tossed onto the ground, although he gets back up and continues to fight. Kendrix's weapon is knocked out of her hands and she is knocked against a small stone. Maya is knocked against a building. Furio knocks Mike's weapon out of his hands and kicks him towards the stone with the Quasar Sabers. Furio prepares to strike Mike with his sword. Mike reaches behind him and pulls out a Quasar Saber. It's glowing red and the villagers gasp. Mike uses the Quasar Saber to strike Furio's sword. This time it's Furio who is knocked off his feet. Jera is stunned. Impressed with the Quasar Saber, Mike looks it over. A Stingwinger has Maya pinned to a tree, but Maya flings it aside and hurries over to Mike. Kai, Kendrix, and Damon also hurry over to Mike. Furio gets back up and demands that Mike give him the Quasar Saber. Kendrix asks, should we try? Mike nods yes. Kai, Damon, Maya, and Kendrix reach for a Quasar Saber and pull them out with ease. Each Quasar Saber glows with a different color, pink, yellow, green, and blue. The Stingwingers back away from them as the villagers give another gasp. Kendrix, Kai, Mike, Damon, and Maya look over their Quasar Saber. Maya tells them, they have been chosen. Leo, who had still been fighting, notices his new friends with the Quasar Sabers and he grins. Furio states, if I can't have the sabers, then no one will. Furio slams his sword into the ground. From the point of the sword, the ground begins to turn to stone and then it spreads outward. Leo hurries over to join his friends. Kai calls out a warning and they all takes off running, including the villagers, to avoid being turned into stone. The villagers are not fast enough and are turned to stone as it catches up to them. Maya glances back at her home. Jera shouts at her to run. Maya doesn't want to leave her home, but Mike grabs her and pulls her along. Jera is turned to stone. Very quickly, it's only Kai, Damon, Leo, Kendrix, Mike, and Maya trying to outrun being turned to stone. Kendrix shouts, hurry! It's catching up to us! Suddenly Furio and several Stingwingers appear in front of them. Furio laughs and asks them, did you really think you could run away from me? Leo, Mike, Kendrix, Damon, Maya, and Kai get into a fight stance. Furio's sword turns into flames and he slams it into the ground. The ground starts to shake and splits apart. Mike is caught as the grounds splits between his feet and he falls in. Surrounded by Stingwingers, Leo screams as he watches his brother fall in. Leo breaks free from the Stingwingers and hurries to the opening.
Leo drops down and extends his hand over the ledge to help his brother. Leo shouts at his brother to give him his hand. Instead, Mike replies that he can't hold on. What little bit of ground he is clinging to, starts to crumble beneath his boots. Mike slides further down as Leo continues to shout give me your hand! Mike tells Leo to take the saber and holds the Quasar Saber above him. Leo refuses and shouts for Mike's hand. Mike tells him, I can't hold on. Leo tells Mike not to give up, but Mike continues to slide as the ground grumbles. Mike shouts at Leo to take the Saber. Leo shouts back that he can't. Mike tells him, of course you can. You have to. Mike pushes the Quasar Saber towards Leo. Leo agrees to try and reaches for the Quasar Saber. Leo manages to grab the Quasar Saber. Leo tells Mike you can't let go. Mike tells Leo, it's okay. You can carry on for me. You can do it. I've always been so proud of you Leo. I always will be. Mike gives a small nod and lets go. With tears streaming down his face, Leo screams no as Mike falls and vanishes into the mist at the bottom. The ground begins to shake again and opening closes. Despite battling the Stingwingers, Kendrix, Kai, Maya, and Damon had been watching and they are devastated when the ground closes and Mike is gone. Furio taunts, who's next? Emotions barely in check, Leo gets up, ready to fight Furio. Furio taunts, oh, does baby brother want a piece of me too? Furio laughs. Damon, Kendrix, Maya, and Kai gather around Leo as the Stingwingers gather around Furio. Mike's Quasar Saber reacts to Leo's anger and lights up as it did for his brother. The rest of the Quasar Sabers begin to glow as well. Furio is surprised. What?! The Quasar Sabers are more powerful than I thought! Leo holds his Quasar Saber up above him and the rest follow his action.
Several lightening bolts hit the Quasar Sabers and the five are morphed into the Galactic Power Rangers. Damon is green, Maya is yellow, Kendrix is pink, Kai is blue, and Leo is red. Furio had shielded his eyes turning the transformation, but when it was done, he took a look and was not happy and shouts what is this?! Before him stands the Galactic Rangers. Furio comments, interesting. Green Ranger is excited and states, this is unbelievable. Blue Ranger shouts, I've never felt such power! Furio notes their excitement and states, silly costumes won't help against my power. Red Ranger is up for the challenge and suggests, why don't we find out about that?! Alright guys, this one's for Mike! Furio gives the Stingwingers the command to destroy them. The Galactic Ranger are ready and charge towards the Stingwingers. Pink Ranger easily leaps over several Stingwingers before fighting several others with her Quasar Saber, destroying several. Pink Ranger comments, the power of the saber is amazing. Red Ranger battles Furio with his Quasar Saber. Furio gives Red Ranger a hard kick. But Red Ranger continues to fight Furio. Furio kicks Red Ranger's leg out from under him. Red Ranger twirls in the air and lands on the ground. Red Ranger quickly straightens himself out and takes a large flying leap towards Furio. Furio strikes Red Ranger with his sword when he comes close. Red Ranger lands against a tree and uses it to take another leap towards Furio. Furio tosses Red Ranger aside before he can even strike. Red Ranger lands on his back on the ground. Blue Ranger flings a Stingwinger through the air. He fights another with his Quasar Saber, destroying it. Blue Ranger lands a hard punch on another Stingwinger, causing it to go flying backwards. Blue Ranger strikes another Stingwinger, causing it to land hard on the ground. Green Ranger tells his batch of Stingwingers that they are going down. Green Ranger leaps high into the sky, flips over, flies over them, striking them as he goes through them. The Stingwingers fall to the ground. Green Ranger excitedly states, I can't believe this power! Yellow Ranger battles a group of Stingwingers as well. She climbs high on a tree and then leaps down towards the Stingwingers. Yellow Ranger lands on a Stingwinger and flips it onto the ground. She quickly gets up and fights several more with her Quasar Saber. She strikes several with her saber. Yellow Ranger side sweeps one of the Stingwingers and it falls to the ground. Twirling through the air, Yellow Ranger kicks another to the ground. Red Ranger asks Furio, have you had enough? Furio replies, I have had enough alright! Enough of you! Furio holds out his arm and red bolts generated out of his hand and strike Red Ranger. Red Ranger lands hard on the ground. Red Ranger notes, this may be a little tougher than I thought. Furio tells him, you have no idea who you are messing with! I am Furio! And I do not lose! Red Ranger powers up his Quasar Saber. Red Ranger strikes Furio with a powerful blow. Furio is knocked off his feet. Blue Ranger continues to battle several Stingwingers. He excitedly shouts, man, I'm loving this! Blue Ranger happens to glance behind them and notices the powerful spell of everything turning to stone has caught up to them. Blue Ranger calls out a warning to Pink Ranger. Pink Ranger notes, oh no! It's here already! Green Ranger also spots it. Blue Ranger shouts, come on! Blue Ranger strikes several Stingwingers as he tries to get away from the spell. Red Ranger is fighting Furio, when Yellow Ranger runs up behind him and pulls him away. Yellow Ranger tells him, we got to get out of here now! Red Ranger shouts, this isn't over with Furio! Red Ranger takes off running with Yellow Ranger. Yellow Ranger strikes several more Stingwingers as they try to make their way to safety. Even the Stingwingers become frighten as they try to fly away from the spell. Blue Ranger shouts at his friends to hurry up! They gather together and Red Ranger tells them to go, he will hold off the Stingwingers. But Blue Ranger isn't having it. He pushes Red Ranger backwards and tell him, no, we all go. Furio tells the Stingwingers, don't let them get away! Red Ranger wants to fight Furio, but Blue Ranger shouts at him, no is not the time! The five Galactic Ranger desperately run from the spell as several Stingwinger pursue them. The Galactic Ranger reach the Astro Megaship and scramble aboard. Red Ranger takes a look back and knows he can't leave his brother. Blue Ranger grabs him and tells him, you can help him now. Blue Ranger drags Red Ranger up the ramp and into the Astro Megaship. The Astro Megaship's outer door closes as several Stingwingers slam against it.
Alpha 6 is stunned when he sees Rangers entering. Alpha 6 is confused and asks how? Kai abruptly answers later as he and Damon quickly work on the controls. Kendrix, Maya, and Leo reach the bridge and paused. They in awe at the gleaming technology and beauty of the bridge. Kendrix, Maya, and Leo enter the bridge quite dazzled by what they see. Alpha 6 is also dazzled as he notes the Power Rangers are back. This is too good to be true. Damon tells everyone to hold on and Astro Megaship begins to lift into the air.
Furio is furious that they are getting away. He tells the Stingwingers to hurry up and get to the Scorpion Stinger. The Stingwingers quickly obey Furio.
On the bridge of the Astro Megaship, Maya wistfully gazes out the window as her planet continues to turn into stone. Alpha 6 shouts, oh no! Kai asks him, what is it? Alpha 6 warns them that the portal is closing. Damon once more warns them to hold on as he prepares the Astro Megaship to enter the portal before it closes. The Astro Megaship shakes as it enters the portal and everyone tightly grips onto the ship. The Astro Megaship safely makes it to the other side as the portal closes behind them. They all smile at each other in relief. Maya can't believe it as she looks over herself. With her back towards them, she asks her new friends, do you know what this means? Those swords...the Quasar Sabers, were put in that rock, three thousand years ago. Every warrior in the galaxy tried to free them. But none could. Until now. We have been given an unbelievable opportunity and responsibility to defend all that is just and right in the universe. Don't you see. Maya turns around and faces her friends. She tells them, we've been chosen. To be Power Rangers. Kai, Damon, and Kendrix are amazed and a little awe at the responsibility. Leo gazes at the Quasar Saber in his hands and thinks of his brother and notes, this is for you Mike. Leo slowly lifts his head as he wonders if he can live up to Mike's faith in him.
Terra Venture loading doors open as the Astro Megaship lands in the holding bay.
Kai and Kendrix silently slip onto bridge as Commander Stanton is briefing the crew. Commander Stanton tells the crew, he wants them to know how proud he is of each and every one of you as we begin this, our adventure of a lifetime. Alright, what do you say we go see the galaxy. Commander Stanton gives the command to fire thrusters and Terra Venture begins it's adventure of a lifetime. Commander Stanton states, let's go find a new world. The crew cheers with excitement.
The Scorpion Stinger glides through the galaxy. Scorpius asks Furio, what is our status? Furio answers, we have passed through the portal. Scorpius tells Furio, then you best better do your duty. Get me the Quasar Sabers and destroy those who have taken them from me! Furio confidently responds, it will be done. Furio starts walking out as Scorpius warns, it had better. Scorpius laughs deeply.
