MAYA
Maya - The Yellow Galatic Power Ranger
Mirinoi was in the midst of a grand tradition. The leader of the community was relishing telling the story of the quasar sabers. Then the procession of warriors came up to try and pull the sabers from the encased stone. Maya was enjoying the ceremony tremendously. Once, as a small child, she had tried to pull one of the sabers and thought it had budged. Then destruction walked in the form of Furio. Furio wanted the quasar sabers. Furious that he could not release the quasar sabers, he began destroying the community. Maya was trying to escape Furio's wrath, when a vortex appeared. Without hesitation, Maya leaped into the vortex. The vortex took Maya onto a moon where a group of people were on training maneuvers. Maya tumbled out of the vortex and landed close to their feet. Maya slowly look up into the faces of strangers. Startled, she tried to get away. But Maya couldn't get away. Stingwingers soon appeared out of the vortex as well. The group was ready to fight them and protect Maya. This impressed Maya greatly. When the battle was over, Maya explained to the strangers what was going on in her world and that she needed to go back. Mike and Kendrix went with Maya back into the vortex.
Mirinoi was in total chaos. Maya lead her small group back to her community. Angry at the damage Furio had caused, Maya practically leaped into his face to protect her home. Although initially Furio laughed at her, he soon regretted it. Damon and Kai had appeared to help Maya as well and soon another battle was in full force. Backed against the stone, Mike reached for the quasar saber and pulled it out. Pinned against a tree, Maya watched Mike and breaking free followed suit. Furio was furious and started turning the planet into stone. Racing to get away, Maya felt the ground shake and watched as Leo tried to save his brother from the cavern that had opened up beneath his feet. Leo was unable to save Mike and Maya felt his pain. As Maya and the others gathered around Leo, he clasped his saber and it started to shimmer. Maya clutched her saber and watched as it shimmered as well. Instinctively, Maya activated the quasar saber and turned into the Yellow Galactic Ranger. Although they battled with Furio, they needed to get onboard the Astro Megaship. The planet was still being turned to stone. As they took off in the ship, Maya took once last look at Mirinoi. She was in shocked. Maya told the quasar saber story to the other Rangers. Explaining to them the significance of the sabers and the importance of being chosen. This lovely lady was going on an adventure to help and protect people who were unfamiliar to her.
Luckily Maya is a very adaptable lady and she quickly adjusted to life on Terra Venture. Although, she was surround by technology on Terra Venture, Maya chose to live, as close as she could, to the lifestyle she had on Mirinoi. Because of her experience of living close to nature, her senses are finely tuned. Maya could hear the galactabeasts cries for help, although no one else could. Without a second thought, she was off to help these creatures. Maya can not stand to see anything caged up. With Leo and Damon's help, she was able to freed the galactabeasts and in return had made some friends. The galactabeasts were their Zords and would help them on countless occasions. Later on she would become aware of three more galactabeasts. Maya is also sensitive to vibrations around her. She was aware of the Lights of Orion before the others and realized their importance.
Maya lives her life to the fullest and does everything from her heart. She loves flowers, sunflowers being her favorites. Maya also likes horses and takes good care of them. She enjoyed going to the mountain domes of Terra Venture. Maya is a natural climber and watching her move among the trees is like watching lighting. Trees are a part of her fighting style, as she uses the limbs to swing around and battle the various monsters. And this girl can work up an appetite. Maya can devoured a whole cake in one sitting!
Maya became close to her fellow Rangers. Kendrix is her "new" best friend. And although they fight, they always resolve their differences. Maya is willing to listen to friend and support them when they are troubled. She believed in Leo when he had visions of Mike. And Maya was concerned for Damon when he volunteered to go on Trakeena's ship. And she knows when to have fun. When the guys need a good dosing from a water hose, Maya is always up to the challenge.
Maya is a beautiful woman and one person who was jealous of this beauty was Trakeena. Trakeena found a monster that could steal Maya's beauty and was successful in it. Mike quickly figured out what was going on and Maya's beauty was returned.
Maya and the other Rangers had countless battles with Scorpius and his various monsters. Finally, Scorpius was defeated and the Rangers all thought they could relax. But Maya knew differently. She was aware of a force more evil than Scorpius. That force would be Trakeena, Scorpius' daughter, bent on revenge towards the Rangers.
Maya missed her home planet greatly. And this lead to a misjudgment on her part. Maya had spied an old friend, Shondra. Wanting very much to believe that she had a small part of her planet with her, she didn't listen to Kendrix voiced her doubts about Shondra. Maya, protective of her friend, set out to prove Kendrix was wrong. Instead Maya found out that Kendrix was right. Shondra was not what she appeared to be. She was one of Trakeena's monsters. Even having this knowledge Maya found it hard to strike the face of a dear friend. But in the end, Maya defeated the monster. She still longs for her home world, but she knew she had good friends on Terra Venture as well.
Yet another battle awaited Maya. This time with Loyax, an old warrior who was looking for one last grand battle. At first, he did not deem Maya worthily enough for a battle. Simply because Maya is a girl. But Maya soon prove to Loyax that gender makes no difference in whether one is a great warrior or not. During her time with Loyax, Maya began to learn things about him. She discovered he had been on the side of good once and she tried desperately to convince him that he could return to the side of good. While Loyax listen to Maya's words, Deviot struck a blow from behind and attached one of his body-controlling gadgets. Eventually Loyax tore the gadget off and did return to the side of good, although he was destroyed in the end. Maya was sad to lose this new friend and gave him a heartfelt farewell.
Trakeena was always up to new tricks. This time she employed the Psycho Rangers to do damage to the Galaxy Rangers. While reaching for a dropped tomato, Maya was yanked below by Psycho Yellow. She was captured along with Damon, Kai and Kendrix. But this was not to last long, as Mike, Leo and Andros soon had them freed. Much to her surprise, the Space Rangers had come onboard to help Maya and the others fight the Psycho Rangers. It was a spectacular battle. The Rangers had won and Maya was thrilled to show the Space Rangers around her new home. But the Rangers had celebrated too soon. Psycho Pink had survived and went after Kendrix and the Sword of Darkness. Although Maya was able to defeat Psycho Pink, she was unable to save Kendrix. Kendrix had destroyed the Sword of Darkness and in doing so, lost her life. Despite the words of comfort from Kendrix's spirit, Maya was filled with grief. She had already lost her world to evil, now she had lost her best friend. Eventually, Karone would fill in for Kendrix and Maya took her under her wings.
More troubles laid ahead as soon Maya and the others found themselves in the Lost Galaxy. The Lost Galaxy was govern by an evil being called Captain Mutiny. He captured people and made them into his slaves. Forcing them to dig for treasure. With her free spirit, this was something Maya could not stand. After numerous battles, Maya was able to freed the slaves and get them safely aboard Terra Venture and eventually they were able to leave Lost Galaxy as well.
But another huge battle awaited Maya. Trakeena was bent on destroying Terra Venture at all costs. As she set swarms of Stingwingers onto Terra Venture, Maya was helping people board shuttles toward a new planet that they had just found. After getting the citizens of Terra Venture safely to the new planet, Maya was off to help Leo battle Trakeena. After an intense confrontation, the Rangers had won the battle. Now they had to get Terra Venture safely to the ground. Maya and the other Rangers just managed to accomplish this task. There was much rejoicing among the people when the Rangers stepped out of Terra Venture.
As she walked around, Maya sensed something about this planet. She lead the other Rangers toward a path. Brushing off growing vines, Maya discovered the stone body of the leader of her community. Much to her amazement and happiness, Maya was home. Acting on her instincts, Maya told the other Rangers that now they had to return the quasar sabers back into the stone. As they did this a wave of golden showers fell upon them. Everything that had once been turned to stone was now back to normal. Maya was overjoyed to have her world back. This was followed by a bright light heading toward her. Kendrix emerged from that light. Now everything was perfect as far as Maya was concern as she gave Kendrix a huge hug.
For awhile, Maya enjoyed showing her friends her home planet. But life as a Ranger wasn't quite over yet. Another battle awaited her. Leo had gone back to Earth to fight a new brand of evil - ghouls. Maya and Kai quickly followed. In the nick of time, Maya and Kai helped Carter defeat a pack of ghouls. As Carter gave his thanks, Maya spotted the young girl on the ground. Quickly, the trio got her to the Aquabase. Maya sat at table facing the Lightspeed Rescue Rangers as Leo explained what treachery laid ahead. Soon the two teams were called into battle and as they were leaving the young girl, Heather, rushed to join them. Initially Carter was reluctant to let her come, but the other Rangers persuade him to let her join them. Always the woman with a soft heart, Maya gently put her arm around Heather as the teams left together. Their first battle with TriSkull ended in defeat, but the Rangers were not giving up.
Carter came up with a plan that both Ranger teams quickly put into action. Dressed as firefighters, the Rangers cleared the building that Trakeena and company were hiding out in. Leo and Carter raced into the room where evil awaited. Meanwhile, down below, Maya and the others were keeping watch on the ground. Listening over the morpher, Maya and the others realized that Leo, Carter, Damon, and Kendrix were in trouble. Soon the Rescue vehicle was in action with a flotation mat which the foursome fell upon. Maya quickly ran to her friend Kendrix and embraced her. But there wasn't much time left. As Olympius taunted the Rangers, they sprang into action. A huge battle followed with Trakeena turning into a huge monster. At first it looked like the Rangers would be defeated. Then the Lights of Orion appeared and as both teams joined forces they were able to defeat Trakeena once and for all.
Maya happily watched Heather reunite with her mother. A beautiful woman, Joel was quick to offer his picture and autograph to her. But Maya simply chuckle and smiled. The Lightspeed Rescue Rangers wanted Maya and the others to stay for awhile. Although only on Earth a short time, Maya, like the other Galactic Rangers, was anxious to go back to Mirinoi. With happiness in her heart, Maya and the others headed back home.
This lovely lady with a huge heart has made tremendous journeys. Now Maya is on another adventure. She is busy reconstructing life on Mirinoi. Besides on Mirinoi, Maya literally has the best of both worlds!
