BENJAMIN

Benjamin - John F. Goff

Benjamin is a captured slave of Captain Mutiny.  He is also the grandfather of Haley, another captured slave.  Benjamin had been a slave of Captain Mutiny for quite some time.  He had difficulty digging up the gems that Barbarax demanded of them.  Having only gathered a few gems, Barbarax had pushed Benjamin to the ground.  Benjamin told Barbarax that he was digging as fast as he could.  Barbarax told him he better dig faster or he wouldn't waste any food on him.  Benjamin went back to work, digging frantically, but finding nothing.  Benjamin noticed a young man giving Haley some water.  Benjamin was surprised when a shower of gems was poured into his bucket.  He glanced up to see the young man, Mike, who was chained to his granddaughter, walked away.  Benjamin watched as Barbarax threatened Mike when he saw Mike had no gems in his bucket.  Haley told Barbarax to wait and told the new slaves that they worked for Barbarax now and they better work hard.  Benjamin was puzzled by Haley's speech.  At the end of the day, the slaves were being led back to their cells.  Benjamin watch Mike break from the crowd and hid, along with Haley.  Haley made a small sound when she spotted her grandfather.  To cover for them, Benjamin pretended to be delirious and grab the bucket of water, claiming the water was all his.  Several swabbies grab Benjamin, and no one noticed the two missing slaves.  Benjamin was placed in stocks for punishment.  Later, Haley and Mike rescue him from the stocks.  Haley asked him if he was okay and he told her he was.  Benjamin, Haley, and Mike raced to the Astro Megaship - which had landed and offered a route of escape for the slaves.  Benjamin, Haley, and Mike had almost made it when Barbarax claiming no one escape his slave camp.  Mike told Benjamin and Haley to continue.  Benjamin and Haley were stunned when Mike transform into the Magna Defender.  Mike battled Barbarax and told Benjamin and Haley to run - as they still stood stunned.  Benjamin and Haley made it to the Astro Megaship.  Haley got her grandfather a blanket and made sure he was okay before searching for Mike.  Benjamin cheered with the crowd when Terra Venture made it through a portal and back to their own universe.
