A short time ago, there was a dimension filled with wonderful magic. But then, darkness came into power. And the great battle began. Five brave people battle and drove the darkness underground, and locked behind powerful gates. The victory came at a terrible price. Years later, the world has forgotten the battle. A young man on a motorcycle heads for the town of Briarwood. Meanwhile, inside the Rock Porium, four employees play around. Madison, one of the employees, videotapes the others, Vida, Chip, and Xander. Toby, the owner, walks in from a scuba diving trip, convinced that his employees are goofing off instead of working. Xander tells Toby not to worry and he assigns tasks to the other tree. Madison and Chip walk off to do their assignments while Xander settles down into a chair. Vida walks over to Xander and asks him what he is doing. Xander replies that he is supervising and comments that it is much harder than it looks. The grounds begins to shake, and Toby tells his employees to get under a desk. Xander, Madison, Chip, and Vida scrambled to find a safe place as everything shakes and falls. The lone motorcycle rider loses control of his bike and falls to the ground. After a few moments, the ground stops shaking. Vida, Chip, Xander, and Madison are dismay to find the store a bigger mess than before. Meanwhile, Koragg, the Knight Wolf has emerged from the underworld. In another place, a cloaked figure realizes the gates have weaken from the earthquake and the evil is free.
Madison, Xander, Vida, and Chip are outside Rock Porium. Madison has the video camera out once more, commenting on what people do after a near death experience, and videotapes her friends skateboarding, listening to music, and eating pizza. An elderly man, across the street, calls out for help. Xander, Vida, Chip, and Madison cross the street and a crowd gathers around the elderly man. The elderly man tells them his brother is missing and he believes his brother is in the woods. The crowd starts to back away. Nick, repairing his bike, offers to help the elderly man and the crowd parts apart to let Nick in. Xander walks up to Nick and tells him that no one goes into the woods. Nick tells Xander he is not scare and gets ready to leave with the elderly man. Vida speaks up and says she will go as well, commenting not everyone in this town is a coward. Chip decides he will go as well, if it is an dangerous mission. Chip, Vida, and Nick leave with the elderly man. Xander looks at Madison and she tells him that she is the sensible sister. Meanwhile, Necrolai surveys the city of Briarwood. Necrolai then flies back to the underworld and reports in to Morticon. Chip, Vida, Nick, and the elderly man reach the edge of the woods when Xander and Madison show up in Vida's vehicle. Xander and Madison join the group as they head into the woods. Madison, Xander, Chip, Vida, and Nick passed through a field. Madison stops and asks the others if they felt that. The group notices the elderly man is no longer with them. Chip cannot believe they have been in the woods for only ten minutes and they are already lost. As they try to find their way out, Chip tells them all the stories he has heard about the various creatures that live in the woods, elves, trolls, and even a witch. Nick tells him he has been reading too many fairy tale books. Madison, Xander, Vida, and Chip turn around and face Nick and their faces freeze with fear. Nick thinks they are playing a joke on him, until Vida points out that there really is someone behind him. Nick turns around and quickly joins the group, taken aback at the sight of the cloaked figure. Suddenly Hidiacs arrive. Nick, Vida, Chip, Madison, and Xander are surrounded. The cloaked figures takes out her wand and summons five brooms, which attack to Vida, Madison, Xander, Chip, and Nick, and causes them to fly through the air. The cloaked figure destroys Hidiacs. Madison, Xander, Chip, Nick, and Vida land by a large tree. They are puzzled about where they are and then become frighten when they see the cloaked figure once more. Chip, Nick, Vida, Madison, and Xander back away, into an opening of a tree, that is shaped like a dragon's head.
The teens entered a room and the cloaked figure reveals herself to be Udonna. Udonna tells them they are in Rootcore and about the magical dimension. Udonna tells the teens that the evil has been free and it will try to conquer the magical dimension and their dimension as well. Udonna shows them the book of Xenotome, which foretold of the new five warriors. Udonna tells the teens that they are to become Power Rangers. Only Chip is excited. Udonna passes each one a wand. Clare, Udonna's assistant, races in and whispers to Udonna. Udonna tells the teens to stay, she has some matters to take care of. After Udonna leaves, the teens are ready to leave as well. Clare tells them they have to stay. The teens are adamant about leaving. Clare tries to use a spell to freeze them, and instead turns herself into a sheep. Chip, Xander, Madison, Nick, and Vida quickly put down their wands and leave. The teens leave Rootcore and soon find the destroyed remains of a village. Udonna is there and she comments that she should have known they would not stay put. The teens ask what happened, and Udonna tells them this is Woodland Village and it has been destroyed by Morticon. The teens want to know why. Udonna tells them Morticon is looking for someone - her. Morticon will destroy them and her. An elf notices the five teens and excitedly tells the village that the mystical warriors have arrive. The magical creatures bow to them - something Xander enjoys. A loud sound is heard, and Udonna and the rest turn around and see a huge creature. Udonna tells the teens to take their wands out, but they cannot as they had left them at Rootcore. Udonna takes out her wand and morphs to White Mystic Power Ranger. The teens are impressed. White Mystic Ranger battles the giant creature. The teens are soon surrounded by Hidiacs. Xander tries to reason with the Hidiacs, but they toss Xander back to the group. The teens try to fight the Hidiacs, but are doing badly. White Mystic Ranger tells them if they believe in magic, they can defeat the Hidiacs. Pinned to a tree, Chip states that he believe in magic and defeats several Hidiacs with lightening. Chip shouts to the others, that it really does work. Xander, Madison, and Vida all state that they believe in magic, and their powers destroy the Hidiacs. Not believing in magic, Nick is unable to defeat the Hidiacs, and White Mystic Ranger destroys them. White Mystic Ranger powers down. Vida, Madison, Xander, and Chip are very excited. Nick doesn't want anything to do with them or Udonna.
Madison tries to talk Nick into staying, but Udonna tells them Nick is a non-believer and there is nothing she can do for him. Clare arrives, still as a sheep, and Udonna has Clare escort Nick out of the woods. Koragg appears and blasts Udonna, Xander, Madison, Vida, and Chip to the ground.
