The five teens are in the city and they have just picked up a book for Mr. Hartford. Will: It's a waste of manpower. Why would Andrew send all five of us to grab a single book, when I'm perfectly capable of doing it myself. Rose: Think of it like a field trip. Mack: Yeah, there's one thing I know about my dad, he's got a reason for everything. Dax showed off some of his stunt moves and his friends were impressed. Mack, Rose, and Ronny clapped afterwards. Will was distracted by a faint cry for help. Will suddenly took off as he spotted, in the distance, a construction worker falling off a building. Will morphed and caught the construction worker before he hit the ground. Black Ranger demorphed as they landed safely on the ground. The construction worker thank Will and left. Dax, Ronny, Rose, and Mack caught up to Will and asked him why he hadn't waited for all of them. Will replied, with a smirk of his face, that he was use to working on his own and is a one man show.
Flurious is furious over Moltor having the crown. Flurious is determined to get the jewels. Norg slides in and Flurious wants Norg to find the jewels. Norg thinks an ice cream will make Flurious happy. But that only makes him more angry. Norg sets off to find the jewels. Meanwhile, the teens have return to base. Will notices that the book they went to get, Exploration Under the North Sea, is in Mr. Hartford's hands. Mr. Hartford simply tells them he must have misplaced the book. Mr. Hartford has exciting news for the teens. The screen shows a city under the city, Atlantis. Mr. Hartford believes one of the jewels could be there. Mr. Hartford warns the teens that it is important they did not alert Flurious and Moltor to where they are headed. Mr. Hartford has preprogrammed their route in the S.H.A.R.C. Will volunteers to go on the mission on his own. Mr. Hartford tells him the mission needs all five of them. The teens excitedly leave for their next challenge. After they leave, the construction worker walks in. Mr. Hartford asks him how things went. The construction worker removes his mask to reveal he is Spencer. Spencer replies that he is fine, thanks for asking. Mr. Hartford asks Spencer if the teens had worked as a team. Spencer replies that no they did not. In the S.H.A.R.C., Will wants to take over the controls. Ronny tells him no, the auto pilot had been set by Mr. Hartford. Will remarks that he is not use to hearing no. Ronny, firmly tells Will no. In Flurious' base, Norg comes back with a lump of coal. Norg tells Flurious that if he sits on the coal for many years, he can make a diamond out of it. Flurious is ready to destroy Norg. Norg does some fast thinking and tells Flurious he should get the Rangers to lead him to the jewels. Flurious pauses for a moment to think it over. In the S.H.A.R.C., Will has decided to take things into his own hands and takes the S.H.A.R.C. off of auto pilot. The S.H.A.R.C. flies really fast as the others try to hang on as they fly right over Flurious' base. The rumble from the S.H.A.R.C. shakes things up at Flurious' base. Flurious sees the S.H.A.R.C. flying over his base and decides to act on Norg's suggestion. Flurious creates a snow storm, that causes more trouble for the teens.
Ronny has had enough and puts the auto pilot back on. The S.H.A.R.C. lands roughly onto the beach. No one is too happy with Will as they ask for their Drive Max zords to be sent. Meanwhile, Flurious watches his screen and sees where the S.H.A.R.C. had landed. Suddenly Moltor appears on the screen and asks Flurious if he has seen the Rangers. Flurious tells him he hasn't. Flurious then heads out with several Chillers. Elsewhere, the Drive Max zords have arrived. Pink Ranger, Yellow Ranger, and Black Ranger head into the dead sea with Pink Ranger's Drive Max zord. Black Ranger wants to take over, but Pink Ranger refuses to let Black Ranger drive her zord. They stay in contact with Red Ranger. The three Rangers soon come across the ruins of Atlantis. The Drive Max zord reaches as far as it can go. Black Ranger and Yellow Ranger scuba dive out and enter the ruins. Black Ranger and Yellow Ranger eagerly explore the ruins. Black Ranger and Yellow Ranger soon enter the temple and begin exploring it as well. Yellow Ranger discovers a puzzle and calls Black Ranger over. Yellow Ranger is ready to transmit the image to Pink Ranger, so she can figure it out. Black Ranger insists they don't need Pink Ranger's help and Black Ranger does the puzzle. This sets off a defense device inside the temple. Black Ranger and Yellow Ranger are trapped within stone hands of a statue. Pink Ranger is trapped inside her zord. Blue Ranger uses his zord to rescue Pink Ranger and her zord.. Red Ranger uses the technology in his zord to locate Yellow Ranger and Black Ranger. Red Ranger races in with his zord and quickly rescues Yellow Ranger and Black Ranger. Once outside, Yellow Ranger and Black Ranger are dumped onto the ground. Blue Ranger and Pink Ranger race over and Red Ranger jumps out of his zord to join them. Black Ranger explains his actions as improvising. The Rangers still need to retrieve the jewel. Black Ranger and Yellow Ranger race ahead of everyone else to find the jewel. They are back in the ruins and exploring once more. They entered a huge cavern and raced along a narrow pathway. Ahead is a bright glow. Black Ranger continues to run and then slips and falls. Yellow Ranger catches him in the nick of time. The rest of the Rangers have caught up. Pink Ranger, Red Ranger, and Blue Ranger continue to run as Yellow Ranger hangs onto Black Ranger. Soon the pathway begins to crumble beneath their feet.
Black Ranger and Yellow Ranger join the rest of the Rangers in racing across the crumbling pathway. They reach the other side safely. Blue Ranger examines the shining object and it gives a strong reading. Blue Ranger tries to remove the cocoon and suddenly there are numerous cocoons floating. Red Ranger thinks he knows how to solve the problem and sets off a chain reaction among the cocoons. Black Ranger is upset, because he had wanted to figure it out. Yellow Ranger slips and begins to falls. Black Ranger leaps into action and saves Yellow Ranger. They managed to get to the opposite side safely. Yellow Ranger has the cocoon. Black Ranger states things would have been better if he had gone on the mission himself. Black Ranger grabs the cocoon from Yellow Ranger and takes off. Red Ranger instructs the rest of the Rangers to find another way out, he is going to talk to Black Ranger. Will is busy trying to break open the cocoon when Mack walks in. Mack talks to Will. Will slips and falls. Will has managed to grab onto a ledge. Mack tells Will to pass him the cocoon. Will is reluctant, but he passes Mack the cocoon. Mack then pulls up Will. After Will is safe on the ground, Mack tells Will they are a team and one day Mack may need him to protect his back. Mack emphasizes that they need Will as part of the team, before walking out. Will is quiet as he thinks over what Mack has said. Blue Ranger, Pink Ranger, and Yellow Ranger have manage to get outside. They encounter Flurious and several Chillers. The three Rangers battle Flurious and the Chillers. Soon Red Ranger is there as well and joins in the battle. The four Rangers are surprised, but happy, when Black Ranger joins them in their battle. The Rangers defeat the Chillers. Flurious creates a monster out of the temple ruins. The Rangers call for their Drive Max zords and the battle continues. Eventually the Rangers formed their Drive Max Megazord. The Rangers, in their Megazord, battle the monster and eventually destroy it. After the battle, Flurious walks away, unhappy at the turn of events.
The teens return to base in high spirits and with the cocoon. They tell Mr. Hartford and Spencer that the cocoon has a high reading. Rose is excited that they got to see Atlantis. Mr. Hartford tells them they must not tell anyone about Atlantis, to protect it. Mr. Hartford asks Will if there were any problems. Before Will can answer, Mack chimes in and tells his dad there were some problems, but they work it out on the way. Everyone is ready to see what's in the cocoon. Will passes the cocoon to Rose to give her the honor of opening it. Rose opens the cocoon and inside his an ancient scroll. Dax is disappointed. Mr. Hartford tells them the scroll is the next piece of the puzzle.
