BROWNBEARD
Brownbeard - John Leigh
Brownbeard is a ghost pirate. He had spent his life searching for the Eye of the Sea jewel, and never found it. Brownbeard's ghost continues to look for the jewel on the island of St. Lucia. Brownbeard was invisible when five teens, Rose, Ronny, Dax, Mack, and Will, find a cannon, inscribed with the words Black Scabbard. Mack had recognized it as belonging to the ship of Brownbeard. There was some argument between Rose and the rest on whether or not pirates were clever. Ronny thought maybe the Eye of the Sea was the first jewel of the Corona. The teens took off and Brownbeard followed them. Still invisible and silent. As the teens crossed a rope and plank bridge over a gorge, Brownbeard cut off one end of it. Although the bridge fell on one side, the teens survived. The teens had made it inside a cave when Brownbeard decide to appear before them. Brownbeard: Ahoy! Yea be looking at the most fearsome ghost of them all! Tis I, Brownbeard the pirate! Instead of being frighten, Ronny, Dax, Mack, and Will were thrilled. Mack: I can't believe it. Mack told him of all the books he had read about him. Brownbeard was rather pleased and gave them a small bow. Then Brownbeard asked them to leave his island. But the teens refused. Dax let it slip that they were looking for the Eye of the Sea. Brownbeard became furious with them. Brownbeard told them they would never find the jewel. Dax told him they had a map and received a sharp elbow from Ronny. Brownbeard noticed the map and his attitude changed. Brownbeard suggested they work together to find the jewel. Will thought it was a good idea, Brownbeard knew the island well. Rose remarked Brownbeard knew enough to cut the ropes on the bridge. Brownbeard grin unabashed as he told them he was a scoundrel. Brownbeard told them he only wanted to hold the jewel for a moment, so his spirit could rest. Everyone, but Rose, believe him. Rose stormed out of the cave. Brownbeard appeared in front of Rose as she was making her way through the jungle. Rose didn't have time for Brownbeard. Brownbeard wanted her to join them in their hunt. A treasure hunt was more fun with your friends. But Brownbeard didn't think Rose had had a lot of fun in her life. Rose turned around and told him about her speedy academic climb through school and now she had been recruited to save the world. Rose told Brownbeard no, there wasn't a lot of time for fun. Brownbeard thought for a moment. Brownbeard told Rose there was nothing more fun than being a pirate. Brownbeard then leaped into Rose's body. Rose became Rosie the Bold. As Rosie the Bold, she fought off Miratrix and her monster. Later, the teens would uncover the Eye of the Sea. Rosie held the jewel in her hand. Mack told Brownbeard he had held the jewel, now they wanted Rose back. Rosie replied fair enough. Brownbeard leaped out of Rose's body. Rose had no idea where she was. Rose commented that she felt really dirty. Brownbeard admitted he hadn't bath in a hundred years. The teens asked for the jewel back, but Brownbeard refused. The teens asked him about the letting his soul rest. Brownbeard remarked it had been a lie, he had always meant to take the jewel from them. Brownbeard and the teens were suddenly blasted off their feet. As he hit the ground, Brownbeard let go of the jewel. Miratrix quickly grabbed the Eye of the Sea. Miratrix thanked the teens for their hard work and vanished with her monster. Rose was furious and told Brownbeard that thanks to his greed, he had placed the world in danger. Brownbeard had no idea what to say as the teens stormed away. Later, Brownbeard appeared in the city and faced down Miratrix and her monster. Brownbeard told Miratrix he wanted the jewel back, he had stolen it fair and square. Brownbeard raced towards them. Miratrix responded by having her monster blast him. Brownbeard went flying through the air and landed hard on the ground. Rose raced over and asked him if he was okay. Brownbeard replied that you can't hurt a ghost, much. Brownbeard apologized to Rose, he had never meant any harm to come to the world. Rose then faced down Miratrix. Brownbeard was stunned when Rose morphed into Pink Ranger. Miratrix gave the Eye of the Sea to the monster and he turned into giant machinery. Pink Ranger battled the machinery with the Shovel Driver. Soon the rest of the Rangers arrived as well. The Rangers defeated the machinery and the monster was reverted back to normal form. The monster had also lost the jewel. Brownbeard picked up the Eye of the Sea before vanishing. After the Rangers destroyed the monster, they went to Hartford mansion. The teens and Spencer were gathered around a dining room table when Brownbeard appeared before them. Spencer was thrilled and asked Brownbeard if he would like a tankard of lemonade. Rose told Spencer that Brownbeard was not welcome. Brownbeard told Rose he may be a scoundrel, but he was no rat. Brownbeard gave the jewel to Rose. Rose was pleased. Will eagerly try to fit the Eye of the Sea into Neptune's sword, but it didn't fit. The teens were disappointed. Brownbeard asked if he could have the jewel, since it was not what they were looking for. Rose gave him the jewel, from one pirate to another. Brownbeard wanted to give Rose something in return and gave her his lucky pearl. As Rose held the pearl in her hand, all the Trackers went off. Rose took a reading of the pearl and it was huge. Rose fit the pearl into Neptune's sword. The teens, Spencer, and Brownbeard were thrilled, they had found the first jewel of the Corona. Later, the teens, in the S.H.A.R.C. took Brownbeard back to St. Lucia. Rose decided to clean up Brownbeard a bit. Rose shaved off his beard and asked him what he thought. Brownbeard liked his new look, but thought he would have to come up with a new name. Rose suggested No Beard. Brownbeard chuckled. Rose told Brownbeard not to tell the others, but she really enjoyed being a pirate. Brownbeard smiled as Rose took off with her friends in the S.H.A.R.C. Brownbeard stated quietly that her secret would be safe with him, Rosie the Bold.
