K

Young K - Molly Standbridge

Even as a young child, K was very smart.  One day she was riding her bike.  Another little girl was writing on the sidewalk with chalk.  K stopped her bike and the little girl offered her some chalk.  K smiled and soon joined the little girl on the pavement.  Instead of drawings, K wrote out equations and diagrams - the covered every inch of space.  The little girl was bewildered.  K was having fun.  A long shadow fell over K.  Two adults, dressed in dark suits, had walked up to them.  K got up and offered the chalk to them.  K was taken to a secret government facility - Alphabet Soup.  At five years old, she was helping the government with various projects.  When her six birthday came, there was a cake, and the two adults, but no one else.  K asked if she could go outside.  The adults told her she was a very sick girl, allergic to sunlight.  Maybe next year.  K was given more projects to work on.  But K would never go outside again as a child.  As a young woman, K would eventually escape Alphabet Soup.
