Boom is having a pleasant dream where the Rangers are having troubles battling several Krybots and an Orangehead.  Boom comes to the rescue as the Orange Ranger and saves the day.  Boom is awaken from his dream by a cadet delivery mail.  Boom opens up his hologram message and is not happy when his mom informs him that they are planning on visiting SPD.  In the command center, Kat detects a problem with a huge unidentified energy source.  Commander Cruger sends Jack and Sky to investigate.  Syd, Z, and Bridge are watching a movie, with RIC as the projector, when a cadet brings Boom's parents into the room.  Z, Syd, and Bridge introduce themselves to Mr. & Mrs. Boom.  Boom's parents introduced themselves as Louise and Phil and are anxious to see Boom.  Bridge has RIC tracked down Boom and they followed him.  RIC points out a closet and when the doors slide open, Booms falls to the floor.  Boom quickly tells his parents that he was doing some closet surveillance and his parents give him a big hug - proud of their little Ranger.  Boom gives an embarrassed grin at Syd, Z, and Bridge who are somewhat surprise at Boom's lie to his parents.  Meanwhile, Sky and Jack entered an empty building, trying to locate the source of energy.  They find a laptop sitting in the middle of an empty room.  Before they can do anything, Tamars appears and sends them to another dimension.

After Boom's parents leave, Z, Syd, and Bridge corner Boom.  Boom confesses to them that he never told his parents he had failed the academy.  Instead Boom told his folks that is the commander of A Squad.  Sky and Jack find themselves in a small white room with no way out.  Tamars appears.  Sky and Jack suit up and battle against Tamars.  Every time the Red Ranger and Blue Ranger start to defeat Tamars, Tamars transports them to another dimension.  Z and Syd decided to help Boom with his little white lie.  Bridge goes along with their decision.  Meanwhile, Boom is giving his parents a tour of SPD, in which he can not show them anything.  Z approaches Boom and tells him he is needed for the training exercises.  Boom finally catches on and he leaves with Z and his parents trailing behind them.  Z and Syd go through a workout session with Boom, while Bridge keeps an eye out for Commander Cruger.  Bridge shouts out a warning when he spots Commander Cruger walking down the hall and they all dog pile on Boom.  Mr. & Mrs. Boom are thrilled to see their son do so well.   After the workout, they all go to the rec room.  Over the loudspeaker, Kat announces that the Rangers are wanted in the command center.  Mr. & Mrs. Boom are thrilled at the opportunity to see Boom in action.  Bridge thinks its time for Boom to tell his parents the truth.  Instead, Syd and Z cover for Boom, telling Boom's parents that Boom had promised them that they could handle the next mission on their own.  Z, Syd, and Bridge entered the command center where Commander Cruger tells them that Sky and Jack are missing.  Syd, Bridge, and Z go searching for Jack and Sky.  They find their bikes and a Bluehead with a laptop.  The Bluehead tells them that they only way they will find their friends is with the laptop.  Bridge, Z, and Syd suit up and battle with the Bluehead.  They battle with the Bluehead and Green Ranger manages to get the laptop.  Just a little bit away, Boom is giving his parents a tour of Newtech City.  Mr. Boom sees the Rangers in action and tells Boom now is his chance.  Boom tells his parents he forgot his morphers and takes off with RIC.  Boom arrives in the central of the Ranger battle with RIC as his motorcycle and decked out as the Orange Ranger.  Green Ranger, Pink Ranger, and Yellow Ranger cannot believe what they see.  Orange Ranger tries to help - all the while his parents are watching and snapping pictures - but proves more of a nuisance instead.   Instead of helping the Rangers, Orange Ranger manages to get the laptop back into the Bluehead's hands and Bluehead escapes.  Pink Ranger, Green Ranger, and Yellow Ranger are upset as they may now never find Jack and Sky.  Meanwhile Red Ranger and Blue Ranger continue to battle Tamars.  They try to get a device from Tamars that will stop him from transporting them to different dimensions, but they are unable to do so.  Back at headquarters, Bridge, Z, and Syd tell Commander Cruger what happened with the Bluehead and the laptop.  Kat is there as well.  Commander Cruger questions them on how they had the laptop and then managed to lose it to the Bluehead.  Z, Syd, and Bridge start to make excuses when Boom walks in and tells Commander Cruger the fault lies with him.  Boom tells a stunned Commander Cruger that he pretended to be a Power Ranger to impress his parents.  Boom turns in his letter of resignation and Commander Cruger accepts it, despite protests from Syd, Z, Bridge, and Kat.  Boom enters the rec room and tells his excited parents that truth about him being dismissed from the academy after only three days.  Boom tells his parents that he has resigned and leaves to gather his stuff from the lab.  Boom walks into the lab and finds Kat, Bridge, Syd, and Z busy trying to get the computer to work to locate Jack and Sky.  Boom helps them out and then volunteers to test a new gadget that will enable Boom to go to where Sky and Jack are and leave with them.  Red Ranger and Blue Ranger are transported back to where they started.  Boom arrives and through some fumbling with the devise, manages to rescue Red Ranger and Blue Ranger.  They return to the lab, and Tamars pops out of the computer screen.  Boom quickly unplugs the computer before Tamars can get out completely.  Commander Cruger tells Boom that he cannot accept his letter of resignation, as Boom did not sign it, and everyone cheers.  Later, Boom takes his parents to his lab and tells them this is where he works and he is the chief gadget tester.  His parents are impressed.  Boom demonstrates a booster pack and takes off up in the air and into the sky.
