The following day, the Rangers are gathered at the control room with Commander Cruger and Kat.  Bridge sneezes and apologizes profusely - nervous about getting Commander Cruger angry.  Kat calls Commander Cruger over and tells him of the strange readings she is getting.  Commander Cruger is not convinced and thinks the program is malfunctioning.  Kat tells him it's unlikely as she designed the program.  Commander Cruger sends the Rangers to investigate and they take off.  Commander Cruger notes that the Rangers are acting oddly and wonders why.  Kat tells him he is the reason why.  The Rangers arrive at Piggy's new restaurant - Piggy's.  Piggy has gained sudden wealth by finding a winning lottery ticket.  All Piggy's patrons scamper away when the Rangers arrive and Piggy is none too pleased to see them.  The Rangers question Piggy about anything unusual.  General Benaag suddenly appears and tosses the Rangers a circular canister to take back to headquarters.  The Rangers head back to headquarters and the control.  Commander Cruger is startled to see a hologram of General Benaag.  General Benagg challenges Commander Cruger, but Commander Cruger refuses to fight.  The Rangers want to know why and Kat tells Commander Cruger it's time to tell the Rangers of his past.  Commander Cruger tells them of how Emperor Gruumm attacked his planet, Sirius.  His planet formed a resistance - the first SPD, but it was not enough.  Emperor Gruumm, General Benaag, and hundreds of Krybots destroyed his planet.  Commander Cruger had been knocked out and when he awoke he found out he was the last of his kind.  The Rangers were stunned by what had happened to Commander Cruger.  Commander Cruger tells them that it was then that he vowed never to fight with his sword - as he had fail his own kind.  Later, headquarters begins to shake and Kat tells them that it is energy tremors.  Commander Cruger sends the team out.  The Rangers morphed and entered their delta runners.  After the Rangers have left, Kat tells Commander Cruger that he has fought against General Benaag and knows what to expect, unlike his young team he has just sent out.  Kat tells Commander Cruger that he should be out there as well, but Commander Cruger refuses.  Kat takes a chance and hands Commander Cruger a small, silver box.  Commander Cruger opens it and looks inside.  Commander Cruger becomes furious and tells Kat that it borders on subordinate.  Kat leaves.  Meanwhile, the Rangers are having a difficult time with the Bluehead in the giant robot.  The Bluehead places spikes throughout the city.  Sky tries to remove one of the spikes, but the Rangers are called back to headquarters.  The Rangers are angry with Commander Cruger.  Sky tells Commander Cruger that he could have remove the spikes.  Commander Cruger tells them they do not know what will happen when the spikes are removed and they have to wait.  The Rangers do not want to wait.  Commander Cruger calls for Kat and Boom enters the control room.  Boom tells them that something is wrong - Boom cannot find Kat and she is not answering her communicator.  RIC suddenly leaves the room.  Kat is outside walking alone when she hears something.  Kat turns around, but does not see anything.  Kat is attacked by two strangers and she fights them off, but is eventually captured.  RIC appears and knocks the two strangers down - revealing that they are Krybots.  RIC stands protectively by Kat when General Benaag appears.  General Benaag taunts RIC, and despite Kat telling RIC to stay, RIC goes after General Benaag.  Kat screams no at what she sees.
