AUDITIONS FEATURETTE
THE PINK RANGER
Erika auditions for the role of Pink Ranger. Erika portrays someone who has been hurt in battle. Off screen the "companion" notes that "Sadie" is injured and asks if she is okay. She replies yes, it's nothing. The "person" insists on seeing "Sadie's" injury. She tells the person, I told you, don't worry, just go back inside. The "person" replies, I'm not going to leave you alone like this. "Sadie" insists that she is fine. The "person" is sure that "Sadie" needs to rest awhile. The kids will be fine. "Sadie" looks off in the distance and comments, I always wanted a play like that. She looks back at the "person". I never got to play with other girls. When I was young, I always wanted to play house, pretend I was a mom. But I always had to practice, to train. I'm sorry for talking this way. I don't quite feel like myself. The "person" replies, it's okay, if that was your dream to marry. "Sadie" continues, some times I just wish I could have a normal life. Become a normal wife, maybe even a normal mother one day. The "person" reassures her, I'm sure you will be all those things. "Sadie" tells her, well that was the plan. But I think of what would happen if we....the "person" tells her, I know. "Sadie" apologizes. I just being such a....the "person" quickly says, no, no, no, it's fine. Believe me, I understand. "Sadie" suggests they go back inside. Come on. I don't know what's gotten into me. I'm getting too emotional. Erika's audition ends.
