Boxed In - Page Three

Again this conversation can be overheard in the sick room.  It affects Kevin the hardest.  Once more, Kevin sits up in his bed.  Mia is concern and asks him what is he doing?  You need your rest.  Kevin is determined to find some way to help.  Mia protests.  You don't have to do this.  Not alone.  Let's help each other.  That's the best way we can help Jayden.  Mia stands up and holds out her hand to Kevin.  Kevin takes her hand with a smile on his face.  Mia helps him up.

Inside a cave, Deker has a fire going as he sits and watches Jayden.  After awhile, Jayden starts to stir.  Deker tells him the purity of the lake has healed you, but you will still be weak for awhile.  Despite this, Jayden tries to get up, but he can't and falls back down.  Frustrated, Jayden asks Deker, why are you doing this?  Deker replies, I'm searching for the ultimate duel.  The duel you and I will have.  Jayden tells him, I don't fight just to fight.  I fight to protect people.  Deker doesn't care.  We're patience, my sword Uramasa and I.  But eventually we will battle.  I have quite the incentive to convince you.  After all, I was once fully human.  All I know now is this constant craving for battle.  The Nighlok in me gives me no choice about it.  Neither one notices Dayu hiding and listening.  Jayden tells Deker, you always have a choice.  You don't have to give in to the Nighlok's cravings.  Deker replies, it's easy for you to say.  But Jayden doesn't buy it.  Doing the right thing, is always worth the effort, no matter how hard it is.  That's why I won't fight just to fight.  Deker becomes angry and tells him, you will give me the ultimate battle!  Whether you like it or not!  It's the only way I will be free from this terrible curse!  Dayu feels bad.  Oh Deker, if you only knew the truth.
