THE TENGEN GATE
The Tengen Gate
Outside of Panorama City is The Tengen Gate. It is surrounded by a large forest. The Tengen Gate has a large wooden gate at the entrance that leads to a lovely courtyard. In the courtyard is a monument that commemorates where the first Samurai Rangers battled the Nighlok and defeated them. There are several small buildings occupied by the guardians of the Tengen Gate. Daisuke is the elder guardian. The guardians protect the Black Box. The Black Box is a magic talisman created by the first Red Ranger, but never completed. Others have tried to completed the Black Box, but no one has the ability or strength. Despite their best efforts, the Sanzu River has started seeping into their world. Mentor Ji thought the Black Box could give them extra help. Emily suggested Antonio be the one to try and complete the Black Box. The rest agree and Mentor Ji sent Kevin, Mia, Emily, Mike, and Jayden to Tengen Gate. Eventually the five teens arrived at the Tengen Gate. Mike is not very impressed. Mike: "This is the Tengen Gate. It's just a big wood thing." Jayden: "The Tengen Gate is an important part of Ranger history, Mike." Mia, Emily, Kevin, and Jayden all give a small bow before walking underneath the gate. Jayden leads his friends through the courtyard. They pause at a monument. Jayden: "This commemorates where the first Samurai Rangers battled the Nighlok army." Emily: "They say the Sanzu River flooded the entire city." Mike: "What happened?" Kevin: "The Rangers defeated them because they never gave up and they took their training seriously." Mike shakes his head with a grin. An older man arrives. Daisuke: "We certainly did. Although the legends tell us that the Green Ranger was a bit of a prankster." Emily laughs. Mike can't believe it. Mike: "No way." Daisuke: "Apparently he drove the Blue Ranger crazy, but they were still the best of friends. I am Daisuke. The elder guardian" Mia, Emily, Kevin, Jayden, and Mike all give a small bow. Daisuke welcomes them to the Tengen Gate. Your mentor advised us that you were coming. With his arm, Daisuke indicates that they should go ahead. Another guardian waits to escort them. Mia, Emily, Kevin, and Mike follow the guardian. Jayden stays behind, deep in thought as he looks at the monument. Daisuke tells him, a penny for your thoughts. Jayden replies, it's nothing. But Daisuke already knows. Daisuke tells Jayden, you haven't told them your secret have you? Jayden replies, their my friends, Daisuke. I don't like lying to them. Jayden returns to staring at the monument. Daisuke is sympathetic. He places his hand on Jayden's shoulder and tells him he is sorry. But it is your responsibility to be the Red Ranger. Jayden knows and replies, I won't fail them. Jayden walks away with Daisuke. Inside the room, Mia, Emily, Kevin, and Mike set about exploring it. Mia and Kevin are drawn to a tapestry hanging on the wall that depicts a tragic scene. Daisuke and Jayden enter. Daisuke explains to them that it's an old folk tale. A young woman made a deal with a Nighlok king to save the life of her beloved. But the king tricked her and turned them both into Nighlok. Kevin responds, sure sounds like something a Nighlok would do. Daisuke continues, the king took away the man's memory and cursed him to wander the Earth all alone forever. Mia tells them, it's strange. It's almost as if I met this woman before. Mia places her figures on the two tragic figures. Moments later, Mia, Emily, Kevin, Mike, Jayden, and Daisuke are sitting in a circle on the floor. Daisuke places a small box on the floor and removes the lid. Inside is the Black Box. Daisuke tells them, the Black Box is the most powerful samurai weapon ever conceive. Few even know of it's existence. Jayden carefully picks up the Black Box. He thanks Daisuke. I shall protect it with my life. Behind them, a guardian is pouring tea in cups for them. Daisuke hopes their friend can program it. With each passing day, the Nighlok presence grows stronger. I fear that soon even this sacred place will be corrupted by their evil. No one notices Octoroo's arm as it comes through the gap, stretches over to the table and poisons the tea. A guardian carries the tray of tea and places it close to Daisuke. Daisuke tells the teens, let us drink tea together. Everyone reaches for a cup. Mike takes two cups and gives one to Mia. They all hold their cups up in a toast. Daisuke states, to honor the ancient Rangers and for good fortune in battle. Jayden is the first to take a drink. He suddenly drops his cup and lays on the floor in pain, clutching at his throat. Jayden manages to choke out a warning - don't drink the tea, it's poison. Mia goes over to Jayden's side. The rest of the teens are alarmed. A guardian races in and tells Daisuke there are Nighlok in the garden. Mia tells the rest, we can't leave Jayden. Jayden tells them not to worry about him. Go! Hurry! In the courtyard, the Moogers have grab some of the guardians and toss them around. Mia, Emily, Kevin, and Mike run into the garden, using their power symbols to morph as they run. The four Rangers face down Arachnitor and the Moogers. Arachnitor notes that there are only four of them. and concludes that his little scheme worked. The Moogers charge towards the four Rangers. The four Rangers pull out their Spin Swords and leap towards the Moogers. Pink Ranger, Yellow Ranger, Blue Ranger, and Green Ranger battle the Moogers with their Spin Swords. After knocking down a few Moogers, Pink Ranger announces she is calling Antonio for backup. The battle has moved into the woods by Tengen Gate. Meanwhile, a guardian hurries with a tray of medicine for Jayden. Daisuke holds up Jayden's head as he gives him some medicine. All three are startled to hear Octoroo state, what a joke. Seriously?! You are going to fight my magic potion with dry mushrooms? The guardian stands up and charges towards Octoroo. Octoroo blasts him off his feet and he lands on the floor. Daisuke stands up and faces Octoroo. Foolish Nighlok. Your forces were defeated here once before and they shall be again! Octoroo challenges Daisuke. Jayden calls out for them to wait. It's me you want. Let the guardians go! Octoroo is okay with that. I just need one thing from you. You're going to show me the symbol you Red Rangers use to seal away Master Xandred. Instead, Jayden drags himself through the courtyard, trying to get away from Octoroo. Octoroo tells Jayden, it's a simple question Red Ranger. Just show me the sealing symbol and I'll give you the antidote. It will save us both a lot of grief. Octoroo casually walks up to stand beside Jayden, who is still on the ground. Neither one see Deker hiding. Jayden tells Octoroo never. Antonio comes running up, yelling, the man said no! Antonio morphs. Gold Ranger tries to strike Octoroo with his Barracuda Blade, but Octoroo blocks the blow. Octoroo asks, who invited you? This is a private conversation. Jayden is surprised to see Gold Ranger and then passes out. Gold Ranger battles Octoroo with his Barracuda Blade. Deker is surprised that the fisherman is the Gold Ranger. Gold Ranger continues his battle with Octoroo with his Barracuda Blade. During the battle, Octoroo tells Gold Ranger to hold still. Instead Gold Ranger continues to fight. Octoroo strikes Gold Ranger with his staff and then blasts him. Gold Ranger goes flying and lands hard on the ground. Gold Ranger gets back up and comments on the smell. Octoroo's eyes glow and two of tentacles stretch out and wrapped themselves around Gold Ranger. Gold Ranger does not like the slimy feel of it. Octoroo, through his tentacles, blasts Gold Ranger. Octoroo then uses his tentacles to toss Gold Ranger around. Crashing him into the ground several times. Gold Ranger breaks free using his Barracuda Blade to break apart the tentacles. Octoroo is not happy, those take forever to grow! Gold Ranger charges towards Octoroo. Octoroo tosses several balls that causes explosions when they hit. Gold Ranger bats the balls away with his Barracuda Blade. Gold Ranger reaches Octoroo and they both fight with their weapons. Deker steps out of his hiding place and stands next to Jayden's still form. Deker yells out, hey fisherman! Gold Ranger is surprised to see him and asks what are you doing here? Deker replies, relax. Deker transforms into his Nighlok form. He tells Gold Ranger, I will take care of the Red Ranger from here. Gold Ranger becomes alarmed. Wait! No! Deker picks up Jayden and slings him over his shoulder. Deker leaps away with Jayden as Gold Ranger cries out no! Come back with my friend! Gold Ranger takes off to chase after Deker. Octoroo is not happy. Deker spoils everything! I'm out of here!
