Snack Shop Gon
Snack Shop Gon was a busy small restaurant, with one young lady, Yoko, taking orders. There was also one chef, Gonpachi Edogawa. Gon's specialty was curry. After the Black Cross Army attack on several of EAGLE's branches, the snack shop also serve another purpose. It served to conceal the Gorengers' base, which was below the restaurant. Aka Ranger traveled to various locations, delivering messages to the following Gorenger members to meet at Snack Shop Gon. Kenji arrives in the city and looks around at the buildings until he spots the sign for Snack Shop Gon. Kenji enters and is greeted by the cook behind the counter. Yoko also greets him. Kenji orders coffee as he finds a place to sit at the counter. Two other young ladies sit together. One of them orders coffee as well while the other one orders ice cream. Daita shouts coming in as he enters Snack Shop Gon. Daita is greeted as well. Daita sits at the counter and orders four large curries. Cook tries to talk Daita out of his order. He tells Daita that his large curries are really large. No one can eat four of them. He tells him to go with two. But Daita insists on having four. Cook notes Daita is stubborn. Cook gets to work on the curries. He places the four large curries in front of Daita and thinks it will be too much for him. Daita immediately begins to dig into the curries. Daita compliments the cook on the curries. Cook stares at Daita as he makes quick work of the dishes. Peggy enters and orders ice cream as she sits next to Daita. A young boy enters and Yoko asks him if he wants his allowance? The young boy replies yes. Yoko good naturedly pushes his head and gives him the money. The young boy thanks Yoko and scampers off. Tsuyoshi enters and is greeted as well. Peggy, Daita, and Kenji all turned around in their seats to look at Tsuyoshi. Tsuyoshi walks to the end of the counter and places a small metallic key down. The rest have similar metallic keys and place them down next to his. Daita asks, aren't we one short? Tsuyoshi answers, it's fine. (Akira meets them in one of the passageways to the base.) He grabs his key and gets up. Kenji, Peggy, and Daita also pick up their keys and follow Tsuyoshi. The four exit through a door that leads them towards the Gorenger base.
Daita is devouring his curry. He is surrounded by Tomoko, Haruko, Kenji, and Taro. A Reversi Game Board is in front of them. Daita comments on the difficulty of the game. Daita asks for another dish of curry. Cook tells him he is going to turn yellow, if he keeps eating curry. Yuko enters and announces she is back. Cook welcomes her back. Yuko leans over the counter and in a low voice tells Cook, the experiment has been made. She also shows him some papers. Cook, also in a low voice, tells her good work. The Communication Device goes off on Kenji's wrist. Kenji glances over at Daita and gives a small nod. They both get up and leave, making their way towards Gorenger Secret Base. Once there, they are informed of Black Cross Army's plan to steal Professor Kudo's Sand Beam, along with Professor Kudo and turned Earth into a desert. They also need to keep Professor Kudo's son, Koichi, safe. Koichi is found in the park and taken to Snack Shop Gon. After awhile, Koichi Kudo screams that he wants to go home and tries to run away from Snack Shop Gon. But he is quickly surrounded by Daita, Kenji, Tomoko and Haruko. Daita tries to encourage Koichi to stay by telling him the curry is tasty. But it's not enough, and Koichi races out of the shop and is eventually captured as well. Later, the Gorengers will rescue Professor Kudo and Koichi, destroy Samurai Mask and defeat Black Cross Army's plans.
Deep in thought, Daita eats his curry. It's clear he is puzzling over something. Cook overhears Daita talking to himself and looks up from the newspaper he was reading. Cook notices Daita's is staring straight ahead and asks what is he gawking at? Daita doesn't answer and instead requests another bowl of curry. Cook tells Daita that his tab is getting excessive. Yoko gives a small giggle. Cook brings over another bowl and Daita immediately begins to eat it. Haruko and Tomoko enter. Haruko sits next to Daita, and with a grin, tells him, he is always eating. Tomoko sits on the other side of Haruko. Cook walks over to the two ladies and Tomoko passes the slip of paper that the scientist had sent to Cook. Discreetly Cook takes a look at the paper and microfilm. He places the microfilm back into the paper and quietly walks away. Suddenly Daita's Communication Device goes off. Daita asks where the Cook is, and Yoko shakes her head to signal she doesn't know. Daita quickly hurries away. Later, Daita enters and leads Taro to the counter and asks Taro to give him the answer. (Taro had given Daita a riddle outside.) Taro excitedly answers, it's a papaya! Daita tells Taro he is very smart and then asks Cook for a large curry rice. Cook asks him, should you be eating curry rice now? Daita asks Cook, you're the voice, aren't you? Cook laughs nervously and asks, what are you joking about? "Customers" enter and sit at the tables. Yoko walks over to their tables and gives them glasses of water. Kenji, Peggy, Akira, and Tsuyoshi enter and walk up to the counter. Yoko asks the group what they would like and they pull out guns. One of the girls grabs a hold of Taro as the leader tells them not to move. A girl covers Taro's mouth with a cloth. Yoko yells her brother's name and Tsuyoshi holds her back. The cloth made Taro go to sleep. Daita is furious and calls them scum for harming a child. Cook agrees and tells them even the notorious Black Cross Army won't do harm to a child. The four "customers" reveal themselves to be actually Zolders. Daita feels terrible and realizes he must have been followed (Earlier he was supposed to meet with Agent 003, but the agent never showed up.) and apologizes to Cook. One of the Zolders tells them they want the bomb back. (Daita and Tsuyoshi had snuck onto the Black Cross Army base and took their powerful bomb.) Tsuyoshi replies that they have disposed of it. Pointing a gun at Tsuyoshi's face, the Zolder tells him, take us to your base. Tsuyoshi reluctantly agrees. Tsuyoshi walks away. As the Zolder follows, Cook throws a fork into the side of the Zolder's neck. Yoko lands a karate chop against another Zolder. Akira fights another Zolder and then tosses it aside. Peggy lands a powerful kick to the same Zolder. A Zolder heads out, carrying Taro. Cook yells at Yellow to go after them! Daita starts to run, but stops and turns around. He tells Cook...you are the... Cook yells at him to shut up and go! Daita races out the door. Cook tells the rest to assemble and instructs them that they are on a mission to save Taro. Tsuyoshi realizes Cook is the Commander. Cook yells at them to go! They quickly race out. The Gorengers successfully rescue Taro and destroy Bronze Mask.
At Snack Shop Gon, Daita and Kenji sit at the counter. Akira is playing the guitar for Taro as Cook and Yoko work. Cook hands Daita a bowl of curry. Yoko asks him, how can you eat curry and rice all the time? Daita replies he is a bit hungry. Taro walks over to Daita and pats him on the back. Taro then asks Daita a riddle. Daita tells Taro he is not in the mood for riddles, he is worried. (No one knows where Peggy is.) Cook teases him, but you have time to eat. Akira tells them, it's emotional eating, which embarrasses Daita. Kenji offers to teach Taro another riddle. Tomoko and Haruko enter and walk up to the counter. Cook walks over to them and Tomoko informs him that Dr. Muto is supposed to be in Europe. Haruko continues but someone had spotted him this morning, taking a walk in the garden. Cook is surprised. Daita tells Kenji that they had been tricked. (Earlier in the day they had gone to Muto Bacteria Research Institute and was told Dr. Muto is out on a scientific conference in Europe and the laboratory would be closed for a week. In addition, the young lady who had visited asking for a mold analysis had come two hours ago but had already left.) Daita and Kenji hurry out. Cook looks over at Akira and motions for him to head out and Akira does so. Ki Ranger and Mido Ranger rescue Peggy, Dr. Muto and several scientists from the basement of the Bacteria Research Institute. The Gorengers were able to stop Jade Mask's plans and destroy him as well.
At Snack Shop Gon, Taro asks where are Daita and the others? Yoko responds, she doesn't know. Taro is bored since he can't do riddles with them. A cloaked figure enters. Yoko and Cook greet him. The cloaked figure sits down and doesn't respond to their greeting. Yoko asks what he would like to order? Disguised Poison Gas Mask responds, the gas! But quickly changes his order to curry. Yoko gives the order to Cook, but they both know something is wrong. Taro finally has someone to ask a riddle to, and tells him, it sucks gas fully into its face, floating in the big sky. What do you call such a monster? Can you figure it out, old man? Yoko tries to stop Taro by wrapping her arms around him. The cloaked figure replies, that is...an air balloon isn't it? Taro tells him he got it right. Gas begins to seep from beneath the cloaked figure's hat. Alarmed, Taro tells the "old man" he has smoke coming out of his hat. The cloaked figure replies it's not smoke, it's gas. The clocked figure walks up to the counter. He has a picture of Tsuyoshi and asks Cook if he knows him? Cook takes a look and responds he has not seen him. Taro wants to see the picture, but Yoko stops him and asks him a riddle to distract him. Taro answers quickly and Yoko praises him. The cloaked figure leaves. Yoko is relieved. Cook dashes out. Later, the Gorengers destroyed Poison Gas Mask with their Gorenger Storm.
Tsuyoshi and Kenji had been sent to stop Steel Ring Mask from stealing microfilm that contained information on EAGLE and the Gorengers. At Snack Shop Gon, Cook paces. He is worried that Kenji and Tsuyoshi haven't returned, which means the microfilm will be decrypted soon. Daita is confident Green and Red will get the microfilm and asks for seconds. Not in the mood to cook, Cook uses the excuse that he is out of rice. Daita tells him to just cook some more. Cook tells him he is out of grains too. Daita replies, just buy some more. Cook yells at him to shut up. Yoko tugs Daita's ear and tells him to calm down. Yoko asks him, how can you eat at a time like this? Cook adds, leave me alone. Daita removes Yoko's hand, telling her that hurts. Taro pokes his head in and asks a riddle - what kind of book doesn't break when you pull it? Taro enters and Daita answers, a dictionary. Taro tells him, that's right. Daita brags that he is smart. Later, they would heard from Kenji and Akira, Peggy, and Daita left to join them in their battle against Steel Ring Mask. Steel Ring Mask was destroyed by Gorenger Storm and the information on the Gorengers had not been decrypted.
At Snack Shop Gon, Yoko is busy serving customers. Daita and Taro are sitting at the counter eating. Taro asks Daita a riddle, what gains and loses weight, even though it doesn't eat or drink at all? Daita is puzzled. Yoko answers a moon. After a few moments of thought, Daita gets it. Tomoko walks in and heads straight over to Cook. She whispers to Cook that Kaijo got hurt. Cook leaves to enter Gorengers Secret Base. Kaijo had been injured by Crescent Moon Mask. Later, the Gorengers destroy Crescent Moon Mask.
Black Cross Army, specifically Poison Fang Mask, have been trying to get rid of Mr. Scott. Mr. Scott is a Nobel Prize-winning pacifist. His prize could strengthen the resolve of several people against the Black Cross Army. By assassinating him, the Black Cross Army intend to throw the world into chaos. Mr. Scott had returned to Japan to reunited with his daughter, Amy. Poison Fang Mask had successfully poisoned Mr. Scott, at his daughter's boutique. Thankfully, he was found by Aka Ranger, Mido Ranger and Momo Ranger. Amy entered moments later. Mr. Scott was quickly taken to a hospital. Amy refused to go to the hospital and was taken to Snack Shop Gon instead. Ao Ranger and Ki Ranger were on a mission to bring back a serum for Mr. Scott. At Snack Shop Gon, Amy is telling Taro a riddle. Peggy is sitting close by, keeping an eye on them. Taro easily answers the riddle and Amy is impress - telling Taro he is a genius at riddles. Taro brags that he's even better than that. Yoko is not happy with Taro's smug attitude and tells him, that's enough. Peggy asks Amy, don't you want to see your father? Amy replies, I've lived without a father, haven't I? Yoko tries to encourage Amy to see her father. Amy replies, not my father. My father died 15 years ago. Mama raised me alone when I was young. She went through a lot of trouble. Yoko kindly asks, and then she passed away? Amy nods her head yes. Peggy adds, her grave is in Fuchu. Amy is surprised and asks Peggy how does she know that? Peggy replies, Mr. Scott was praying in front of it today. Amy considers what Peggy has told her. After awhile, Tsuyoshi contacts Commander Edogawa at the Gorengers' Secret Base and tells him he wants to have Amy come to the hospital. In order to encourage Mr. Scott until the serum arrives, those two will have to meet. Commander Edogawa replies, understood. At the Snack Shop Gon, Peggy is not happy with Amy. Cook enters and gives Peggy a nod. Peggy grabs Amy off her seat. Amy protests, what are you doing? Yoko walks over to the other side of Amy and tells her, let's go. Peggy and Yoko force Amy out of Snack Shop Gon and take her to the hospital. After a bit of resistance, Amy forgives her father. Unfortunately Amy is then kidnapped by Poison Fang Mask. The Gorengers rescue Amy and destroy Poison Fang Mask with Gorenger Storm. Amy is reunited with her father and they leave for her father's country.
Daita is at Snack Shop Gon, enjoying his bowl of curry. Taro is sitting next to him and tells him a riddle. Master grabs the bowl from Daita. Daita wonders why. Master tells him, they're in danger. Deploy. (Aka Ranger and Momo Ranger had rescued Professor Kudo from Boat Ear Mask but they needed help.) Daita quickly stands up. Master informs him that Blue is already in Variblune. Daita quickly leaves Snack Shop Gon. A battle follows and eventually Boat Ear Mask is destroyed by Gorenger Storm.
Silver Heat Mask's hideous plot penetrated to the center of Tokyo, causing fires everywhere. At Snack Shop Gon, Cook tells Kenji, Tsuyoshi, and Daita that the invasion of Silver Heat Mask has reached into the town. Kenji wants to leave right away. A tearful Yoko enters with Peggy behind her. Daita tells Peggy, we must go now. Peggy moves Daita aside and walks up to Tsuyoshi and tells him he crossed a line. (Yoko was forced by Silver Heat Mask to betray the Gorengers in order for her brother, Taro, to be released.) Do you want Taro to be killed? Tsuyoshi gets up and heads for the door, with his head bowed. He tells them, my sister was killed too...by the Black Cross Army! Yoko is stunned as well as the others. Tsuyoshi walks out. No one says anything. Soon the Gorengers rescue Taro and battle Silver Heat Mask. Silver Heat Mask is destroyed by Gorenger Storm. Afterwards, at the Gorengers Secret Base, Yoko tries to turn in her communication device, but Tsuyoshi simply places it back on her wrist, welcoming her back to the team.
Inside Snack Shop Gon, Tomoko, Yoko, and Haruko watched in amazement as Daita eat one bowl of curry rice after another. Tomoko told Daita, you sure can eat. Haruko added you're just like a cow! and touch his stomach. Which made Daita ticklish. The girls laughed and Daita told them, this is no laughing matter! He then called out for another bowl of curry rice. Even Cook was surprised and asked, you sure your stomach doesn't reach right to the other world? Taro entered Snack Shop Gon. Daita was relived it was just Taro. Taro wanted to play riddles with Daita. Daita was ready. Everyone noticed Horn Mask enter Snack Shop Gon and quickly faced the counter. Cook whispered to them to act normally. Cook greeted Horn Mask. Daita gave Taro a riddle. Which Taro told him that riddle was so old. Daita tried again, but again, it was another old riddle for Taro. Yoko carried Taro away and Haruko and Tomoko followed Yoko. Horn Mask was standing behind Daita, confident that the Gorengers should have their base around here. Cook acted confused and asked Daita, do you know what he's talking about? Daita replied no. Cook asked the girls gathered in the corner, the same question. Tomoko replied that she had heard of them. They are five warriors who battle the Black Cross Army. Haruko added, they're so cool! They fight for justice! Daita added, they're that cool, hun, Master? Horn Mask thought Daita's voice was familiar. Daita tried to tell the same riddle to Cook that he had to Taro. Horn Mask commented on what an old riddle it was. Horn Mask told a riddle, which Daita didn't get but Taro did. Several Zolders entered Snack Shop Gon and told Horn Mask they had not found the Gorengers. Horn Mask was angry. Horn Mask used his scepter and knocked the glassware with it and knocked Daita out of his chair. The Zolders surrounded Daita and attacked him with chair. Cook tried to stop them by telling them to we have nothing to do with this! Horn Mask told him to be quiet. If the Gorengers fight for justice, then surely they will appear to save you! Horn Mask threw something at Cook and missed as Cook quickly ducked down. Cook continued to plead with Horn Mask to stop as Daita fought the Zolders. Daita also shouted at Horn Mask to stop. Horn Mask struck Daita several times with his scepter. Daita never flinched and stood his ground. Horn Mask told the Zolders to get him. A Zolder smashed a chair onto Daita's head. This riled up Daita and he was ready to fight. Cook shouted at him to stop. Daita grabbed a chair broke it apart. Horn Mask asked, even this won't bring you out, cowardly Gorengers? Where are they? A Zolder continued to smash Cook's head against the counter as another Zolder fought Daita. Cook continued to claim he didn't know. We have nothing to do with this! Horn Mask called for the Gorengers to come out! Haruko and Tomoko went into fight stances. Cook shook his head no at them. Taro got out of Yoko's arms and ran over to Horn Mask. He pulled on Horn Mask's robes and asked him, what are you doing to the old man, you jerk? Horn Mask shoved Taro aside. Yoko hurried over and picked Taro up. The Zolder continued to smash Cook's head onto the counter. Horn Mask called a stop and told them to search the next place. Horn Mask and the Zolders left. One Zolder flung Daita one last time before heading out. Tomoko hurried over to the cook and asked him if he was ok? Daita swore he won't forgive anyone who hurts a child! Daita hurried out as Cook yelled at him to wait. But Daita was already gone. Soon, Yoko, Taro, and Cook were straightening the place up. Haruko and Tomoko entered and walked up to Cook. Haruko told him, we couldn't find him anywhere. Tomoko added, Ki Ranger didn't respond to the Ranger call, either. Cook was worried. Haruko and Tomoko tin and helped with the cleaning. Two deliverymen entered, carrying a large package between them. It was from the Horn Department Store. One of the delivery people asked the personnel seal and Yoko hurried to get her personal seal. Cook was suspicious of the package. Yoko returned and gave the stamp to the delivery person. After getting two stamps on the paperwork, the two delivery people left. Taro asked if they were gifts for someone? Cook cautioned them that it could be a bomb. Tomoko used her Bomb Detector on the top of the package. She concluded, nothing dangerous. Cook was surprised and they decided to open the package. Yoko and Cook opened the package. When the lid was lifted it revealed Ki Ranger's helmet and as the fog disappeared, the rest of Ki Ranger was revealed. Ki Ranger was cold and sneezed. Eventually the Gorengers came up with a plan that destroyed Horn Mask and his Human Bombs.
