Lord Zedd then transform the trumpet into Trumpet Top. Unfortunately, Lord Zedd's plan did not work and in the end, the Rangers destroy Trumpet Top with Thunder Megazord, breaking the spell, along with the trumpet returning to normal.

Lord Zedd had decided he wanted to make Kimberly his bride. He sent Goldar and several Putties to kidnap Kimberly. Later, Kimberly approaches Madam Swampy's building. Goldar and several Putties arrive. Kimberly is ready to battle. Goldar tosses some magic dust that makes Kimberly powerless to fight them. Goldar takes Kimberly and leaves in triumph and takes her to the Cave of Fantasy. Later, Lord Zedd wants to further divide the Rangers. Lord Zedd spots Richie and Curtis in the park. Lord Zedd sends down several Putties that go after Curtis and Richie. Richie and Curtis try to outmaneuver the Putties. Soon, Yellow Ranger and Blue Ranger teleport to the entrance of the cave where Kimberly is held. There are several Putties guarding the entrance. Blue Ranger and Yellow Ranger prepare to battle the Putties. Zack teleports to the park and battles the Putties that have Curtis and Richie cornered. Meanwhile, Blue Ranger fights a set of Putties while Yellow Ranger fights another set of Putties. In the park, Zack continues to fight the Putties in the park. Elsewhere, Blue Ranger and Yellow Ranger defeat the Putties. Blue Ranger states, let's go find Kimberly! Yellow Ranger and Blue Ranger run into the cave. They rescue Kimberly from the cave. At the park, Zack manages to defeat the Putties. Alpha 5 contacts Blue Ranger and tells them, Zedd's Mirror Maniac monster is in Angel Grove central park. Jason and Zack are on their way to the park. Meet them there as soon as you can. Kimberly morphs and the three Rangers teleport to the park. Black Ranger and Red Ranger are there already. The Rangers battle the Putties that are at the park as Mirror Maniac looks on. The Rangers defeat the Putties. Lord Zedd throws down his grow bomb and Mirror Maniac grows to giant size. The Rangers summon their Thunder Zords and quickly form Thunder Megazord. Another battle follows and eventually Thunder Megazord destroys Mirror Maniac.

Lord Zedd had created Nimrod the Scarlet Sentinel, but still had it hidden within the statue it was created from. Unfortunately, Zack, going after an out of bounds football, discovered the statue oozing goo. Zack got a hold of his friends and they were all suspicious of the statue. Lord Zedd was furious they had discovered the statue before he was ready and sent down several of his Putties. The Putties battled the teens, but were eventually defeated by them.

Lord Zedd had discovered that Rita had returned to Angel Grove. He sent several of his Putties to search for her.
