Physics scholar Professor Kudo has arrived back in Japan. Professor Kudo exits the international airport. Professor Kudo is escorted by three policemen. Kenji, Tsuyoshi, and Peggy get off their Machines and greet Professor Kudo. After introductions, Professor Kudo expresses how impressed he is with his security. Professor Kudo gets into his car with the policemen. Tsuyoshi rides in front of the car, on his machine, while Kenji and Peggy drive behind the car. Soon the trio of vehicles came to a tunnel. They all stop and Tsuyoshi has Kenji and Peggy enter first to check for any danger. Kenji and Peggy enter the tunnel. They drive clear through to the other side with no problems. After a quick look around on the other side, they let Tsuyoshi know it's ok to drive through. Tsuyoshi enters the tunnel with the car behind him. They are stopped by a dark figure in the tunnel. Tsuyoshi turns on the lights on his machine. The beams shine on the figure - Boat Ear Mask of the Black Cross Army. Tsuyoshi shouts back at the car to go. The car goes in reverse and Tsuyoshi follows on his Machine. Along the way, Tsuyoshi has Professor Kudo ride in the sidecar of Kenji's Machine. Kenji takes off on a different route as Tsuyoshi and Peggy continue on the original route - to throw Black Cross Army off their tracks. As they drive along, Kenji reassures the professor that they are alright now. Professor Kudo is quite enjoying the adventure. After awhile, a group of Zolders are hiding in the hilly grass, close to a road. A Zolder soon spots Kenji and Professor Kudo on the Machine and informs the rest of the Zolders. The Zolders throw a large boulder down the hill. This causes a rock slide which hits Kenji and Professor Kudo. The Machine is knocked off the road and falls down a hill. Kenji is thrown from the Machine. He gets up with difficulty and checks on Professor Kudo. Professor Kudo is unconscious with a gash on his forehead. Kenji realizes they are in serious trouble. He carefully removes Professor Kudo from the sidecar. Holding onto semi conscious Professor Kudo, Kenji makes his way back to the road. Kenji flags down a car. When the car stops, Kenji tells the driver Professor Kudo is injured and needs to go to the hospital. The driver is willing and opens the back door for them. Kenji carefully helps Professor Kudo into the back seat. But Kenji is prevented from entering by the gun pointed at his face. Kenji slowly backs away. The driver is actually a Zolder and he fires his gun at Kenji. Kenji is hurt and falls, sliding back down the embankment. The car speeds away as Kenji makes his way back to the road. Kenji transforms into Mido Ranger and flies in the sky with his Birdies. After some time, Mido Ranger soon spots them. He lands off to the side of the road and demands they return Professor Kudo. Boat Ear Mask refuses, there is no way he would captured Professor Kudo to just return him. Mido Ranger tries to reason with Boat Ear Mask and points out the professor is seriously injured. His life's in danger. Boat Ear Mask has no time for this talk. Boat Ear Mask commands the Zolders to get Mido Ranger. The Zolders leap out of the jeep as Mido Ranger takes a leap towards them. Mido Ranger strikes a Zolder several times. Mido Ranger tries to reach Professor Kudo but is stopped by another Zolder. Mido Ranger strikes the Zolder but it is apparent that Mido Ranger has an injured arm. Mido Ranger could not fight with his usual skill. Boat Ear Mask taunts Mido Ranger. Mido Ranger struggles to get back up on his feet. Boat Ear Mask realizes Mido Ranger is weakened. Boat Ear Mask has the Zolders fire a cannon at Mido Ranger. They do so and Mido Ranger is hit several times. Mido Ranger falls to the ground. Boat Ear Mask and the Zolders leave. Soon, Aka Ranger and Momo Ranger, on their Machines find Mido Ranger off the side of the road. They quickly rush to his aid. Haruko and Tomoko arrive and quickly offer their help. They let the two Gorengers know they were following Professor Kudo. Aka Ranger tells them they will do the rest. Take care of Mido. Tomoko and Haruko help Mido Ranger to their car. Haruko lets them know the professor's car stopped 2 kilometers northeast of here. Aka Ranger concludes that is their hideout. Aka Ranger and Momo Ranger take off on their Machines. Mido Ranger is taken to the Gorengers' Secret Base. After getting his injury attended to, Kenji works on his Midomerang.
