On the table, sitting on cloth, are three discs.  Mia, Mike, Jayden, Kevin, and Emily are sitting around the table.  Mentor Ji gets a book and then walks over to the group.  Mentor Ji:  Now that we've recovered three of the lost discs, we have a new power at our disposal.  Jayden:  Beetle.  Swordfish.  Tiger.  Together these three discs allow us to form the Samurai Battle Wing.  Mentor Ji held open the book which showed a diagram of the Samurai Battle Wing.  Mike:  Wow.  That looks like one powerful bird.  Mentor Ji:  yes, thanks to these discs.  So each one has to go to the person we believe is truly ready to help pilot the battle wing.  Jayden:  I'll keep the Tiger Zord.  Jayden stood up and beside Mentor Ji.  Mentor Ji:  The Swordfish goes to Kevin, who caught it and therefore has a connection with it.  Jayden passed the Swordfish disc to Kevin, who was delighted.  Mentor Ji:  We've decided that the Beetle...Jayden:  Should go to Mia.  Mia:  Me?  Jayden passed the Beetle disc to Mia.  Mentor Ji:  We trust your control and your symbol power the most, and we know you will do the difficult work that's needed, to master this disc.  Emily glanced at Mike and could see that he was very upset over being passed over.  Mike clenched his hands in anger.  Jayden, Kevin, and Mia were not aware of Mike's feelings.  Jayden continued to talk to Mia.  Jayden:  We're counting on you.  Mia:  Thank you.  I won't let you down.

Afterwards, Mike goes out into the courtyard and intensely practices with his Spin Sword.

Kevin, Emily, Jayden, Mia, and Mentor Ji are in the kitchen, eating area, preparing a meal.  Kevin wonders what has come over Mike.  I'm not use to seeing him train so hard.  Emily adds he's actually been working really hard on his symbol power lately.  I think he wanted that disc bad.  Emily and Kevin go over and sit at the table with Mia.  Mia knows.  She's feel kind of bad taking it instead of him.  Mentor Ji tells her not to feel bad.  Your hard work is one of the reasons we've chosen you.  I told Mike he needs to work just as hard.  Emily replies, but he's been trying.  Mentor Ji agrees that he has.  I believe he has it in him.  But until he learns to listen, he isn't ready.  Emily, Mia, and Kevin exchange concern glances at each other.

Mike continues to practice out in the courtyard with his Spin Sword.  Eventually Mike falls to his knees.  Exhausted he lays on his back and drops his Spin Sword.  He remembers Red Ranger with his Fire Smasher and Blue Ranger with his Hydro Bow.  Mike can't believe they didn't pick him.  He reaches for his Spin Sword.
